i cleaned the guides but didnt copper grease them  i did however copper grease the back of the pads, also i dont have the caps that sit over the pistons as they were missing wen i bought the car and only noticed wen i changed the pads. could this be a added factor of the problem?? im gonna strip em down again soon, if i need the caps that go on the pistons do you know if they are a dealer part only?? thanx 4 your help

i fitted new standard disc's and some Pagid brake pads to my G60 and (after the 200mile light braking period) there was squeeking coming from the brakes wen braking .... i have read bout this B4 and so i did a search and tryed the things people suggested .... but the problem is still there... durring the search sum1 mentioned that his m8 had the same prob and they ground the lip off the side/edge of the disc's and this solved the problem, does this sound possible?? could it be the Calipers??... old and warn guide's prehaps.... im just at a loss as 2 what it could be and it can be quite embarrassing wen ppl turn n look, because of a horrible noise. ohh forgot to mention that it only happens wen in town .... (slow, light braking) im happy with the performance of the pads just not the noise. thanx for help

Yes Im a muppet and u can all have a little laugh at my expence as ive relised the problem i had with the bushes... ok what i did wrong was not remove the metal sleeve that goes round the original bush so with the powerflex bush in the wishbone and the sleeve the wishbone was tight to get in the subframe        .... its still strange that i have a MK3 subframe but ive got around that problem. Anyway im my defence im a newbie to the VW scene so im learning from my mistakes :iamwithstupid: plz be gental with this muppet :brickwall: Just 1 more thing...... i better ask this Q as i have a bad feeling  ..with the powerflex bushes installed,, does the large metal washer go ontop of the wishbone or at the bottom??
-
is the horseshoe the only diffrence on the subframe?? if i grind them off can i use the MK2 bushes?? Thanx for ur help Phat
-
im not getting as far as the hole lineing up to put the steel sleeve in the bush is just getting cut 2 bits by the horse shoes Can i grind the horse shoes off??
-
ive fitted powerflex bushes in my wishbones but can not get the wishbone back on the car the problem is the large rear bush wont fit in where it goes and the bush seems to be damaged as ive tryed to fit it.... the problem seems 2 be where the bush sits in the subframe there is 2 raised half circle metal bits that look like they are there to aline the original bush these metal bits are cutting into the bushes and stoping the wishbone lineing up 4 correct fitment..... how the hell do u guys fit these wishbones with powerflex bushes??.....i just cant get them in  someone plz help me :(
-
well thats what i thought at first until i saw the nut just turning in the clip so i thought thats a bit S..T and removed the clip n put a spanner on the nut..... how the hell is that clip gonna stop the nut turning as i torque the bolt up?? :? ..... it just looks stupid to me
-
when removing the bottom nut n bolt there was a daft clip thing round the nut thats inside the tubing of the rear axel... my Q is how important is that clip? as 2 get a spanner on the nut i need that off and i think it will be a cow to get back on as it was a cow to get off.... Help n suggestions welcome
