Hi I was told today that my brake lights weren't working so I checked the fuses the bulbs and the connections seemed fine. The only thing that I can think of is that when i put the uprated wireing loom in at the weekend I must have done somthing wrong. Any idears? cheers Dan

Not at the moment but I will shortly (got a couple of problems with my computer) where abouts in dorset are you Storm 2 I might have seen you around, did you go to that meet in ferndown a mounth or 2 back?

I have had my vr since feb of this year and haven't had the time or the money to do any mods. All my time and money has been spent trying to bring it upto a desent mechanical standard! Next thing to do is a engin rebuild!!!! :roll: But it is still great fun having a c!!!

I just got the results from my leak down test and it turns out that 3 of the cyilinders lost 13 to 16 psi :( 2 of them wornt to bad they just need re howning ( I don't know how to spell that!) and 1 of the has a bad vertical score down the whole length of the bore! Has anyone made a liner for the vr6 before and does anyone know how much meat there is to play with? cheers Dan

I stole the handle off of one of my dads buckets. It was made for the job. :)

sorted it I just managed to pull the cable hard with a peice of metal with a hock on the end!!!!! That was lucky!!!

what are the pros and cons of 1. buying a second hand 2.8 and boring it out to a 2.9 2. boring my 2.9 out to a 3.0 Is it true that you can only get the over sized pistons for the 3.0L over bore from the states? cheers guys i am a bit stuck here and am trying to work out the best (most affordable) way of getting my vr to run like she used to!!! :(

I had the head done in the last 5000 miles so i don't think it is the valves or head. I cant afford £2700 for a rebuild so i am going to have to do it with my mate. (sods law) Is the 24V a 2.8?

Hi I have a problem with my vr it is burning silly amounts of oil. I have done a bit of looking around and found that the 1 & 6 spark plugs are badly oiled and that the rocker cover gasket is leaking. (K reg 93 with 135K) What i would like to know is:- How much new piston rings will cost How much it will cost for a re bore Anything else which should be done at the same time I have a mate that owns a garage and will do the work on the cheap for me and sai that the labour will cost between £300 and £500. well I went for a test drive on sat mornin it was in A1 condition everything wasspot on according to the buyers guide very very nice car. It was a REV 2 it had all the extras. It is a very fast car but it didn't make me grin quite like my vr there isn't enought torque. It is quite a bit quicker than my vr but its a lot lower down on the grin factor scale!!! :( So i am going to get another VR

I have just joined the mr2 fourm because the biggest mistake i made was buying my vr before finding this fourm!!!!! so i wont make a mistake like that again!!! Cheers for the advice Munky Dan

Well i went and had a look at an FTO and MR2 Turbo today, both very nice motors but i think it is going to have to be the MR2. It is K-REG 93 with 110K. The guy that owned it last worked for sunseeker and seemed to be a perfectionist (which is good) the turbo has just been done and the cam belt too. it has a full service history and also history from japan ( which i cant read) He wants £4995 for it. Does that sound good?

you can pic them up very cheap as well from 2k but it looks like 4k for a good one. One think is for shore what ever i get next i will shop around more this time!!!!
