Nice post! As far as I'm aware I need everything! My splitter was cable tied on :( Bought new splitter and I want it to be perfect :)

I always act without thinking, which lands me in trouble a lot of the time... So it's good that you're thinking about this rationally mate. It's proper horrible when stuff like this happens, I've been there with a few ex's and now my current gf. If it were me, I like comics etc - and the idea of superheroes lol - I'd basically rent a Batman suit or something and hire a ragtag band of merry men and sort him out! But seriously mate, if you can get on it with the help-to-buy scheme that's your best bet :)

Yeah I know about the adapter, it's a Tachometer for the Rev counter - everything can be adapted to work, just needs the correct rewiring and connecters - or so I have been informed... We shall see when I fit the new clocks into my 1991 model analogue car! Saying that my digital clocks are from a 1991 16v too so should be simple, fingers crossed

Due to the amount of 'space' out there and the infinite number of possibilities - I'd say that there is 100% other life out there. Whether or not they are like 'us' is incredibly unlikely - given that the atmoshperic conditions of Earth are such a minute possibility - and are more than likely non carbon based lifeforms, or simply non corporial. They may share liklinesses to us, but who's to know for sure until something happens!

I'm doing the same conversion for my 20vt engine as the signal is digital. There's apparently a wire up guide on VWVortex - but I've not searched as I'm just getting some electrician to do it lol

Hi, I am after a full set of front splitter securing clips for my Rado - the old splitter was able tied on and I want my new one to be on properly. Looked on google for them but can't find any, does anyone know where I can get some please? Thanks

Hi, I'm going to install my new splitter while the bumper is off, however upon removing the bumper I have discovered that my old one was being held on my 3 clips and then cable ties... Has anyone got a full set of the clips/screws which hold the front splitter onto the bumper please?? Thank you

Can you inbox me payment details please? Cheers -
I would rather sell as a whole tbh mate as I haven't got the time to strip it down

Getting there mate, few niggles to sort but the engine will bolt straight in :) Tricky bit will be when it comes to rewiring the instrument cluster and converting it to the later model wiring lol

Hi all, I have removed my 16v engine from my car last week and basically it is now just taking up room in my mates garage so looking to get rid. I have it up for sale on Facebook forums etc for £150 - but seeing as you guys are all C owners ;) it's £100 of the queens for it! Engine has 152k on it, runs sweet as. A little rough on cold start but after 2 mins or so with a little bit of throttle - runs absolutely smooth. Recent work carried out by myself in the last month is timing done, new dizzy and rotor arm, new sparks, top of the engine stripped down to see how the seals are - ideally need replacing (replaced exhaust manifold gasket while there), steam cleaned the inlet manifold and rocker cover - painted rocker cover in heat resistant green paint with metallic flake - looks really nice. Engine has had a new clutch not too long ago also and was very responsive with plenty of bite left. Engine doesn't have a gearbox - but I have a few suitable ones at the house where the engine is stored (they're not mine so a small fee might have to be paid to the guy). Off top of my head he has a 2.0 16v box from a mk3 Golf, and a 1.8t box from an Audi A3 (from the engine I am using in my conversion). Engine also doesn't have Loom or starter motor as I'm using these. Does include the radiator and pipes for cooling, all other ancillaries (alternator etc), a new oil filter, and a full head gasket set (all gaskets and seals required to do the job). Folder full of history for the engine which can be seen, loads of stamps in the service books dating back to 1991. I will be keeping the history etc for the car for the records so will not come with the engine, but can be viewed anytime. I am in Leeds, but the engine is located at my mates in Bradford. £100 the lot Thanks

Began stripping the Rado engine out this weekend, fitted new clutch to the 20vt engine. Progress is going slowly as encountering some structural issues.... Had to buy a new drivers side wishbone due to the previous owner apparently having a small accident and not really fixing anything - just bent the damaged bits back into place :s. Anyway - that new one is on now and we're getting there! Plans for the coming week is to fabricate a new downpipe in stainless steel maintaining the de-cat, cut the cross member down to slim it to mount a large intercooler, and do a bit of welding on the subframe to patch a few bits up and strengthen it up. Clutch fitted onto the new engine New timing belt on the new engine Front of the car off, engine ready to come out :) Engine out :) Gearbox removed from 16v engine, and fitted to the 20vt. Starter motor also removed and fitted to the 20vt engine Stay tuned for more updates when more work is done!!

Koni Suspension - 16v Golf and Possibly 16v Corrado
DiamondTony replied to 87 Jetta 16v's topic in Parts for Sale
might mean the difference in spec C's, ie the 89-91 and the 92-96 differences... just a guess though as none of the suspension differs -
I have tried to just push it forwards, but it's not on any runners or anything?? just slides freely - not sure if it's supposed to do that lol. I'll have a proper look when I go back to the garage. Cheers man

Hi all, Just managed to change the sunroof seal on my Rado so it no longer leaks :-). Next job I'm faced with is the interior sunroof panel isn't really attached to anything, it's currently sat in the gap between the headliner and the roof. How do I get it fixed back to below the sunroof where it should be? Will it work as its supposed to aswell, ie. Tilting when the sunroof tilts, and sliding when the sunroof slides? It also has no fabric on it so will require a new headliner, but that's another task... Thanks in advance

cool, I'll try sort it out when I get back from my hols :thumbleft:

These the instruments you mean in the other thread mate? 2 indicator lights? The wiring loom different then? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswagen-Corrado-16V-Speedo-clocks-instruments-VGC-/370893032592?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item565af28c90

Can I find a 16v cluster with the digital feed? That tacho in the link is only $50... I'm fairly new to Corrado's and I'll only be "helping" with the conversion lol

Thanks mate! :thumbleft:

It's the standard ECU from the engine, AUM Audi A3 150 engine - been remapped already - and my Rado is an early model so will need the adapter :(

That's what colour my Minty one used to be before the spreay. On the old MOT's the colour is down as both green and grey!! Haha

Hi all, I am doing a 20VT conversion on my 1991 (H plate) 16V Corrado. I've been reading up on it and basically my rev counter runs from the dizzy so if I drop the engine in now the rev counter will not work... I need to buy a tachometer adapter to convert the signal form analogue to digital. Has anyone done this before? And what Tachometer is the best to use? I have found this one on a US site - will it work? Looking to have the conversion done by end September :) http://msdignition.shptron.com/p/tach-adapter Thanks!!!

Hi all, I need a passenger side front bumper wing mount... It's the one with the 2 circular discs which the bumper slides onto at the wing. Mine was shattered in a small accident, but everything else is fine except the splitter lol (already have one of those) Thanks in advance
