Hi all, I have a rear VR6 badge and rear VW badge for sale. Some slight rubbing on them. Both in Silver. Bought them as a job lot as I wanted the "Corrado" badge and this was the only way I could get a silver one!! £10 posted for the pair :) or collection from Leeds. Thanks

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
DiamondTony replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
Bought a new front grill for it, fixed the bonnet release so it works, began attempting to seperate some brake hubs into pieces. -
Yeah mate I was gonna go the VR6 route, but I wanted something a teeny bit rarer and better for a daily. I'm gonna do a corrado VR6 setup in the MK2 Golf I have, preperation is done, just need the engine etc now as brakes and exhaust are done. Engine, gearbox and looms etc will be done next year or the end of this year if money allows it :)

Yeah mate well I might be in touch to meet up and chat C's haha!! I got the 1.8 16v as I paid nothing for it... Basically I had a clapped out Passat TDI estate (B4 1995 model woth no tax - although the model was rare) which I swapped for it. It's the only one in the country in this colour - think it's a custom SEAT colour (Kiwi Green but less luminous). Engine wasn't good at all when I got it, so I've sorted that and got all the settings right, only thing now is the cold start is a but iffy but runs a dream when warmed up. Replaced coolant pipes, rebuilt top end, polished the rocker cover and inlet manifold, painted the rocker in metallic Kawasaki Green after cleaning it. New dizzy and rotor arm, new plugs, new stereo etc etc. Drives a treat now but it's too low.. Bought some new wheels for it now (Kerscher carmona's 16 inch, 7.5j front and 9j rears) and I'm having an Audi A3 20vt engine put in it at end of month. I'm trying to update my Gallery thread but my photobucket is being crap and not letting me upload pics :(. You got plans for yours??

Welcome buddy, I'm new too (a month and a bit in). Everyone is really friendly and helpful :) Also I'm from Leeds so not far from Sheffield at all (Y) My Corrado is in the members gallery, but I've done a bit to it sinc the pics were taken when I took delivery :)

Hi all, I'm after some external window scrapers in good condition - mine let in a lot of water and arean't in the best condition. I'm also after a pair of front door cards in black if anyone has any in good condition? Mine are shockingly bad... Thanks!!

I'll check it out mate thanks!

Hey guys, I've had the break my grill today as my bonnet was stuck shut :( so the 2 fixing clips have snapped. I'm after a replacement grill. It's the early model grill with more slats for a 16v model. Not bothered about badges or anything, just as long as the fixing clips are all intact. Thanks!

Cheers guys, I'll deffo look into it, I will be prepared to keep clean as they will be everyday wheels, but I may not be driving it all the time in winter as the heater doesn't work lol!! I'm gonna clean them this weekend anyway and take it from there :)

really annoying starting problem please help if you can!

Yeah good shout on the fuel pump, I never replaced mine on the MK1 Golf hence having to add some gas into the starting procedure, could be helpful to get it swapped out for a new one :) -

I had a similar issue with my MK1 Golf for starting, turns out my starter motor and alternator were no good, but had to put a bit of gas in it to start it. But my rado was ok to start and lost all pressure when I left it running with no gas.. When it's running, when you stop at a set of lights or something, how does it idle? Also what engine is in it?? -
Hi all, Picked up my new wheels yesterday and I want to refurb them but don't really have the cash at moment to pay a guy to do them at £60 a wheel :( I don't really know where to start other than cleaning them, then I get lost. I know there's some wet sanding required, and maybe "dremmel" style tools for sanding kerb marks and polishing, and then lacquer.... If it helps they are Kerscher Carmonas, 7.5J and 9J. Want the polished rim and dish, and white centres. If anyone knows a link to a guide, or if anyone knows what they're doing, please get in touch!! Thank you muchly :camp:

How long ago bud?? I have had this about 2 months now and posted it in the newbie section when I got it? Came from Cornwall - utter dogsh*t when I got it though, runs sweet now after some hard work and patience :)
-
It's a custom job bud by previous owner, I love it but it's not the greatest paint job! Going to get a blow over done but with some silver metal flake for added shine ;)

I have more recent pics as this is when I got it, but Photobucket isn't allowing me to upload :(

Hi all, picked this Corrado up for nothing (swapped for an estate passat with no Tax...). As you can see it's MINT GREEN!! I love the colour, but it's love or hate to be honest haha! Anyway, mechanically the car was poor when I got it as previous owner didn't look after it - but I have loads of service history and receipts from the other owners (one was a woman since 1992 to 2006 - no expense spared). Electrically, everything except the mirrors worked when I got it, including the spoiler and sunroof. However, since then the spoiler now intermittently works (not bothered at moment) the sunroof leaks and the interior is shoddy. I had running issues with pressure losing, and cold start not working. I had to keep the revs high in traffic or it would cut out, however I have sorted all this now, new plugs, new distributor and rotor arm, and a full set up of the cars engine. Also added a new fuel line hose. I have gotten a new custom built stainless exhaust system fitted now too from Tony Banks in Leeds - sounds amazing now. I have just bought new wheels for it too, with adapters, so new coilies needed with some rear camber shims for a nice stance. Also should have a 20vt engine in it at the end of the month - I will update when the mods begin!

My MOT on my rado is due at end of October!! I know it will fail :( I'm trying to get the main bits done before it goes in though! Just paid £500 for my Golf MK2 to get through that MOT too... after I spent near enough £300 making repairs and bits to try get is passed before it went in haha
-
Welcome mate, hope you find the forum as helpful as I have!! Nice rado btw, the salad shooters look well on it :)

Yeah I can't wait to get them, I'm in no ruch to get them on the car as I have a set of white Team Dynamic lightweight race alloys on at the moment which look ok on the car because of the colour, but I'll test fit a wheel this weekend I think and see how they look (if my coilies aren't seized) and maybe whack them all on if they're easy enough to fit. If not I will take the car and bits to my mates and swap the adapters for spacers, shims and get some of those pcd plates instead. I'll try get some pics on here over next few days of how the car is now. I posted a few up in the newbie's section when I joined about a month ago, it's the mint green Rado lol!I have got all the badges for it now though so looks complete, rather than just half done as when I got it. The wheels will set it off lovely I think. Just need to fit a new fuel line (got a hole in mine now so currently sat in drive feeling sorry for itself) and I can get it driven for the 20vt conversion :)
-
I've just had a look into it, and it seems pretty cool tbh :) Might get some at some point, but as I said I've bought the bloody adapters now lol so I'll give these a go. Probably end up going for the 5 stud in the end anyway as I'm gonna need bigger brakes next year, so may end up with s3 hubs or something. If not then I'll deffo look into the PCD plates, they are something I've never heard of!! Those little ingenuis Germans ey!!

Get a compression test done mate, and sort the timing out. Give it a full service. Check all the vacuum pipes for holes, and make sure the water isn't mixing with the oil. A good going over will take a few hours, but you should find the issue if you check all that out mate :)
-
Ahh, well I've bought them now haha!! I pick up the wheels tomorrow and I'll have a look :) they're the rarer staggered set for a tuck and poke look ;) Seems funny that they would do 5x100 and 4x100 though, usually multifits are 5x100 and 5x112 etc. But it'll save me a job I suppose haha!! Just sell the adapters on or swap for some spacers ;)

Claim on HIS insurance? Can't write it off if it's through his insurance surely? I had someone crash into my Golf MK2GTI at work once, went and got it fully repaired at my garage and sent them the invoice, they paid it without even getting to see the car.

When you say you had a set, are you on about the wheels or the adapters?
