thanks for the info mate, i'll do a power check on the wiring. From what i've been advised the isv is meant to constantly buzz, the weird thing is sometimes when the car gets up to temp the isv kicks it and sends the idle up to 2500rpm so i'm thinking its could be a duff temp sender, but the mfa reads oil temp ok and so does the water temp on th clocks? The car drives fine but just wont idle right at the moment i've adjusted the idle screw to get a half decent idle speed, the isv must be not doing it job as when the revs are dropped sharply the idle dips real low then bounces around 1000rpm before is stabilises(ish). will do the checks and bring back the findings...

Does anyone know if the isv on the kr engines are supposed to continue buzzing when engine is idling, as my car idles really bad. I've tried sqeezing the pipe that comes of the isv and the idle stays the same even unplugged the isv and the idle stays the same? How can i check that there is power going to the isv? The valve makes a short clunk when the ignition is switched on then stops and nothing. Tried another isv, dizzy and metering unit but no difference. Is the isv activated by the microswitch on the inlet manifold?I was going to try change the control module under the dash any suggestions would be great :D , i hate electrical probs :( p.s ive tried the search but cant find the answer to this

remember speakng to you at santa pod last year and again at the leeds vw festival, its sounds the nuts, i felt sorry for the suspension when it blasted down the strip it was bouncing like mad at the back. Did you sort your mate out  after he messed with your arches?

looking good mate, the tt seats make the car interior look so much newer

cheers for info, it looks like i'll be doing my gearbox mount on saturday then.

Does anyone if the mk2 golf 16v vibratechnics rear gear box mount fits a 1990 16v corrado, i have been offered one from a friend, i'm sure the mount looks the same as a corrado one just want to check before i buy it :?: thanks Bobby :D

tried a celica gt four? having used a mates 182 to drive from leeds to slough a couple of times i must admit it is a great little car only thing i could fault was the interior was not to my liking. As you mentioned a lot of people find it difficult to look beyond the badge.

had problems with the idle on my 1.8 16v corrado since i bought it, it seems to idle at around 800rpm when cold and then rises to just above 1000rpm as the car warms up. Have checked the timing and done the idle set up procedure. I have noticed that the revs go up slighty 100-200rpm when i press the brake pedal on idle, could this be a faulty servo or master cylinder ,brakes seems ok though any suggestions would be great :D oh yeah my fuel pump seems loud too will be changing both next week hopefully

Car going in for MOT... good luck needed!!!!!
Bobby replied to corradorocks's topic in General Car Chat
is it true that with the new system if the car fails it needs to be booked again for a new mot, there is no time given to do repairs and take the car back as a retest. -
yeah a mate of mine has a mk1 16v with the corrado pedal box and he's using a mk4 tdi box, doesn't suit the high reving character of the valver, its good on take off though..

where can an opitmate be bought from mate?
-
the late tdi mk3's r reg upwards are 110bhp earlier ones are 90bhp

i have the the same locking nut as those i think arent they mcguard ones? Anyway i was in the same situation with my corrado a mate took them of with a socket and strong arm so you can get good leverage to get the locking nut loose in one go.

i know i doesn't help with your question but i have had exide deep cycle batteries in all my cars and never had a flat battery once in 7 years.

Can anyone recommend any companies that i could use to get a set of wheels picked up from london and delivered to leeds, also any ideas roughly of the weight of 4 alloys 7*8" no tyres (made by rh)? cheers Bobby :D

maybe disconnect the vacuum hose on that side
-
they look better on the audi they came off

from memory..... i think the power steering belt is the the same one that runs the alternator if so slacken of the alternator adjustment bolt then should be a straight foward swap. i'll have a look at the order of the three wires for the idle stabiliser valve for you tonight mate.

try smashing vw mate just on the outside of leeds city centre the number is 0113 2450700 they know their stuff. The garage you used in bradford wasn't vr vw's was it if so i'm suprised you got your car back at all.
-
same as above was gonna suggest you can try my spare dizzy if you want before you buy one.
-
like david said a 2l bottom end kr head port and polished ,42mm manifold and two exhaust cams, thats what you want then book a tune up with stealth.
-
ballys head..........that would explain why sales are down this month

i would say the battery, does the clock reset when you start the car as in it blinks off and back on whilst the engine is being cranked over?
