kerrinmay 0 Posted October 27, 2004 The side rubbing strip on the drivers side front wing is sort of drooping and I believe they are stuck on with some kind of adhesive. If I pull it off (should I pull it off?) what can I use to stick it back on with? Or will I need to buy a new one from the dealer (if they still do them)? Henny 0 Posted October 27, 2004 get some body molding fixing tape from Halfords (or similar) It'll hold it on with no problems as long as you make sure that both the strip and the paint it's being stuck to are nice and clean and grease free.. 8) (well, it holds one of mine on anyway! )
kerrinmay 0 Posted October 27, 2004 Cheers, thanks for the advice. I'll pop to Halfords tomorrow and see if I can get some.

dazzyvr6 0 Posted October 27, 2004 are they all stuck on with double sided tape? if so i'm a heave the smeggers off mine yep,but if you not carefull you will pull the paint of the bodywork, use a heat gun(carefully mind)or hot water to soften the adhesive

dinkus 10 Posted October 27, 2004 get some body molding fixing tape from Halfords (or similar) Just make sure nobody sees you buying it, otherwise they'll try and sell you a Burberry cap to go with it
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted October 27, 2004 The "Exterior Trim repair tape" from Halfords is the exact thickness and width required  The mounting surfaces need to be clinically clean and warm if the tape is to do it's job properly - otherwise Droop city for you again a month later! CazzaVR 0 Posted October 31, 2004 Just take 'em off altogether! Car looks so much smoother without 8) . You especially notice the difference when you've done just one side- you'll realise just how ugly they actually are. As others have said use hot water + heat gun/hairdryer :) .
