Bora Bora 0 Posted November 28, 2004 I want to get my C lowered. Can anyone recommend somewhere in the North East to do this job. I want to get a good job done.I also want all suspension parts checking over and will replace them where need be. I prefer to take it to one place and get all the work done at once, rather than messing around.Preferably somewhere that can set the camber and tracking up aswell. Any ideas welcome. daves16v 1 Posted November 28, 2004 I can't recommend anywhere in the North East but what I will say is make sure you choose the right springs and shocks to achieve a decent ride quality. You might end up spending more putting it right. :(

Bora Bora 0 Posted November 30, 2004 Today I found the company to lower my car.Its in my home town! They have a £35k state of art laser machine that will set camber, wheel alignment etc The question is what springs and suspension to buy?? Only got about £350 for this
Bora Bora 0 Posted December 1, 2004 Any suggestions or recommendations :?: :?: :?: Needs to be suitable for a daily driver, therefore I can't go too low.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted December 1, 2004 For a daily useable car I'd recommend Koni TAs and H&R springs. Mild lowering (about 35mm) and a ride comparable to stock, if not better actually. If you want tunability and flexibility, go for a coilover kit. FK Konigsports or Koni's own are very good, but both more expensive than the first option. I would perhaps try a grass roots approach first... refresh all the chassis bushes and ball joints along with a 4 wheel alignment and see how the car feels then. Bora Bora 0 Posted December 4, 2004 Upon inspection today the bottom bushes are split and need to be replaced. Anybody using Powerflex or other uprated bushes? I was told by the garage that they are noisy! and he recommended just using standard ones.
CazzaVR 0 Posted December 5, 2004 Had a complete set of Powerflex bushes coupled with FK Konigsports on my last 16v.... amazing handling, but harsh ride and VERY irritating squeeking from the bushes
Bora Bora 0 Posted December 5, 2004 I do fancy the Koni's but may be over my budget, especially with Christmas around the corner. Anybody used the Vipertech kit from Venom??? Its appealling as it has a lifetime guarantee. I don't want to rush into this, I need to get the right kit for my car.
billinjah 0 Posted December 5, 2004 ive got powerflex everywhere front and rear on mine doesnt squeak but is a bit harsh until you dial in the right amount of rebound and compression damping as i found out this week!
chrishill 0 Posted December 5, 2004 try hi-performance in sunderland, they're right behind kwik-fit (make sure you go in the right one ;)) nice bunch of blokes, sorted out my tracking and camber not so long ago.
