Automatic Spoiler

Advice please on the non-operation of the rear spoiler? Works manually but does not rise at speed. Is there a speed sensor/relay or the likes which can be changed? thanks,Martin

You chaps tried hitting the search? Spoiler has come up for discussion (and diagnosis!) quite a few times ;)

Just make sure the blue lead is not connected on the stereo...

sounds like the spoiler control unit has gone

if the control unit has gone would it still work with the switch though?

*sigh* If you plug the speed sendor into the wrong bit of your head unit, you toast it.

 

This not only kills the fancy volume uppy-downy with speed control on your stereo, but as it's the same unit that controls the spoiler, that too.

 

The spoiler control unit is separate, so it still works on the swtich, just not automatically.

Take the spoiler control module out and make sure it's 2 relays haven't fried. The module is clipped to the dash under the driver's side air vent.
