gradeAfailure 0 Posted February 13, 2005 Hello everyone, my name is Sen, and I am 12 years old and a Volkswagen Passat. My owner, gradeAfailure, aka Dave, said you'd all been very nice to him on here, and that he would like to take some pictures of me to show you all. I hope you like them! He's not much of a photographer I'm afraid, but his friend Phil K is, so I will do a shoot with him as soon as I get time off from taking Dave to see his friends. He's a nice owner though, and I'm sure he'll take care of me! EDIT 19.03.05 - New pic on page 2!

gradeAfailure 0 Posted February 14, 2005 Cheers guys, and yes, I'm hoping it will be a reliable VW! Though she's puffing out a bit of blue smoke on startup that I may have to see to... :( Just about to get her wheels refurbed actually - black centres and spokes with diamond-cut rims should look good? Then it'll be on with the bad-boy grille (it's not as Gary as it sounds!), possibly new bonnet cos the paint's faded and there's suspicious rust bubbles underneath, then maybe a chip and a custom-made heatshield for the induction kit, the German plates (if they ever arrive...), nice set of mats, etc, etc... They're never really finished, are they...?!
dinkus 10 Posted February 14, 2005 They're never really finished, are they...?!  Yeah, tell me about that. I got a Mk3 GTI that I was just gonna drive and ignore. I've already got a list as long as my arm of stuff I want to do to it :?
gradeAfailure 0 Posted February 15, 2005 Just thought I'd put a couple more close-up "aggressive" pics up...!

Supercharged 2 Posted February 16, 2005 looking good... I've always had a soft spot for this type of Passat... Well they were made at the best time in my opinion... In 92 VW were also making the MK1 (cab), MK2, MK3, the Corrado, Scirocco and the Rallye along with the Polo coupe G40 etc... what a time!!
gradeAfailure 0 Posted February 16, 2005 Yeah, I reckon 92 was the best year - last year before catalytic converters were compulsory! :) She'll be out and about, taking me to shows over the summer, and has already made it into the edge of a couple of pics from the last E1K@AceCafe meet! Have never really had a car worth photographing before and it's a really good feeling!

gradeAfailure 0 Posted February 16, 2005 True, it was sweet for a £225 eBay bargain! Not really worth the level of mods that will be done to Sen though!
HiAsAKite 0 Posted February 19, 2005 Welcome to the dub club mate....
dubster82 0 Posted February 20, 2005 Nice car :) I dont think it would suit black centres on them wheels. colour coding the centres would look quite cool, but i quite like em silver. or fully polished. now that would look sweet. I actually sis a chop of one ages agoo... here it is... :)
gradeAfailure 0 Posted February 20, 2005 That's actually the grille that's going on mine! Well, when I can find the money to get it sprayed that is... I have noticed that these shape estates are really popular in Europe; I almost like 'em more than the saloons! Funny that you should post a pic with flat-centre-capped Borbet A's on... ;)

Should just about fit... errrrrrrrr... And only 212Euros from ebay.de - or £146.30 in old money! Steal!

gradeAfailure 0 Posted February 24, 2005 Heh heh, cheers! :) I like the fact that it's a bit more "euro" than usual - I'm actually typing this at Frankfurt airport having spent a day and a half in Germany! Sooooo want my german plates to arrive now!
gradeAfailure 0 Posted March 19, 2005 Well, I took gradeA out today because Phil K said we should get some pictures now that I'm wearing my lovely 17" Borbet A wheels - I'm not too sure about the black though, what do you all think? Hope you like the picture everyone! Sen
Jim 2 Posted March 19, 2005 Looks mucho tidy.. very nice! Rather starting to like those old school Passats!
carpoid 0 Posted March 19, 2005 The black looks awesome, keep it like that i say !!
gradeAfailure 0 Posted March 19, 2005 I'm actually trying to go Euro-look with her, and I reckon the black centres are a bit too "Cal", but I still like em! 8) Got some flat centre caps on the way from Germany, so am thinking of reverting to the original silver with a polished rim as it'll be more Euro... What say thee?
