Bally 0 Posted March 7, 2005 On my way back to work from lunch I noticed a green M plate honda accord sitting at side of dual carriageway, next thing i no they've followed me into our company carpark & come over to my car. I get out & lock up, 2 out of the 5 lads in the car get out & ask me for directions to Motech, I told em, while i was doing that the other was looking at the rado & then said nice car mate, I just laughed & said cheers & began to walk away from the car as they thanked me.. I waited for them to leave the carpark & told onsite security who advised me to move the car to front of building in vistor bays, they contacted police & reported the car as I got the reg no etc & turns out they maybe local theives!!! facking bastids!! lucky I moved the car, otherwise it could have been the last I saw of my car!!!

Jim 2 Posted March 7, 2005 One of the reasons why i'm starting to think a heavy duty Maglite at £20 is a sensible buy! :)
K-rado 0 Posted March 7, 2005 Lets not jump to conclusions here Bally. Mind you, you were prob right to move the car or this could have been a compleatly differ story! but knowing your car, they would have prob not got 2 far what with that steering wheel and sitting 50 odd mm off the ground, would have beeched it somewhere. :( glad it is the story it is Bally, Scum scu@ing mother Wa%*in$ barstewards that they are! dinkus 10 Posted March 7, 2005 Good job you have on site security and that they're actually useful tho mate :) @ Storm Classic - they'd have got to the car park exit and beached it on a speed bump, then done a Basil Fawlty and started walloping it with a Beech branch ;)
CazzaVR 0 Posted March 7, 2005 Was followed home once by a bunch of chavs in an Escort- down several streets and then through the garage block, to the garage. I got out and walked towards their car with my handbrake lock in my hand  and they did a U-turn and sped off at high speed. Went straight out and bought a really heavy duty padlock for the door
Banana Man 0 Posted March 7, 2005 We've had another break-in at work over the weekend. last weekthey just unbolted the dash of a transit and pulled it away from the firewall. This weekend Not content with just taking the dash they took the stereo, clocks interior light, wheels and complete wiring loom, Oh and they also unbolted the cctv cameras and had away with as well LOL how on earth they didn't get noticed is beyond me as they took the loomout very neatly there wasn't one wire left where the dash used to sit and we all know how time consuming taking the dash out is yet alone the complete wiring loom. Ford have quoted £1700 for a new loom. I haven't found out what they wanted for the dash and the clocks though, probably another £1500 or so. They also tampered with a few of the other vans so we couldn't send them out today so basically it's going to be an enormous insurance claim as the police have bugger all chances of catching the culprits. It's the third time they've broken in in 4 weeks.

dinkus 10 Posted March 7, 2005 Bugger me, where do you live Banana Man ??? That's madness. Time to pay for some security guards I think! It's gotta be cheaper than your insurance policy and lost time from not being able to use your vans...
2cc 0 Posted March 7, 2005 Or you could get a BIG DOG Ant. Good move with the security boys and No plate report Bally, hope its the last you see of them. You'd think they'd have come in after you'd left , but then (if they were chavs) not renowned for being sharpest in the box.

Henny 0 Posted March 7, 2005 ...and public flogging... Non-permanent corporal punishment (ie, something that will heal up eventually) with public humiliation is what these idiots need IMHO... Also would make some money if you put it on TV... ;) Once a few of these muppets got caught and punished, the rest of 'em wouldn't DARE to do it anymore... 8) OK, may not be the most popular point of view, but I don't care... godskitchen 0 Posted March 7, 2005 Glad to hear nothing happened bally, I am thinking you were very lucky, if they came up to you it would suggest to me they were going to take the car there and then, something may have spooked them and to be honest you don’t really come across as a victim, so they prob sh1t themselves! I agree with saying they would have to kill me to take my car!

Yeah think security would be a good idea the insurance premium is over £80k a year now for all the fleet!!! One more hit on the insurance aint gonna do much harm but you never know what they may take next or what they do next as they've already caused one of the vans to catch fire next time it may be the brake lines or something that will cause a serious accident!!!
