F'ing 8 valve.....

Abandonded it in Morrisons car park and got a taxi home....

That's not so good :gag:

Nope. Was hoping it would get tourched last night :ignore: but went back at midday to wait for the AA man and it was still there :(

So today.. I have escorted it home, leading the way in Kips silver 8v with Kip wrestling with no power stearing on the back of a solid tow bar. Just booked an alarm fitter (remover) to get the 7 year old Clifford out and in the bin.

Needless to say Kip is not best impressed with my 8v having experienced alarm problems with it a few months ago when it went beserk as he took it for an MOT.

But, on a better note, when speaking to the alarm shop I was told if I ever wanted to sell it they had a lad there mad on Corrados who would probably have it off me... (hmmm, maybe he was thinking it was the Storm that I took there 2 years ago for a new alarm....)

I watched it for about an hour sitting in the rain... unable to stick it in the garage because its full of Japaneese integras' and unable to work on it because of the rain

Put a set of 16" brocks on it and replaced the wiper mechanism. Now I can see when it rains 8) Also built a sub enclosure for the boot but that was the other day

Put a leather base on the clock surround, and added some vibrtion damper to both the top and bottom :cuckoo: This tends to buzz a bit on rough surfaces. I'll see if it makes any difference tomorrow.

& a general good look over as it was the 1st time i have had it in the air on the ramps since i brought it.....

which produced the 'to-do' list....

radiator had a pink stripe of crud on it, as too did the header tank & thermostat so am thinkin maybe best to replace all...if anyone readin this has any advice about this i would be appreciative :)

off side steering rack gaitor was suspsect so both sides will be done....

& that was it, well apart from the leakey rear shock i knew about but im planning on kw v1's to sort that

not too bad but methinks painful on the wallet lol

only just got the car but noticed a droning noise so took rear wheels off, had a poke around and found need new discs, pads, calipers, and disc cover, so those and the bearings will get ordered in the week and seen to next weekend, filed the edges of the discs in the meantime to lessen the droning noise

also had a good nosey round for rust, little bit round the filler cap, little spot on one arch, drivers door and rear quarter seam - beside that really good - well pleased :D

oh yeh, pretty sure i need a new auxhillary pump and thermostat too...

Spent about 40 mins trying to remove the bump strips on the drivers side of the car. Lots of boiled kettles later and finally got all three sections off. However i then noticed that little spots of the paint had also being removed on the door, even though i was really careful. Then spent the next 30 mins putting them back on...

Shame cos i kind of liked the look without them. Oh well

Heater Matrix.

Dash in? LMFAO Yeah, sure!

Is possible but a bit of a Fook-er! :camp:

Well, technically I did it with my dash "in" because the cobra alarm etc wiring has been wired around some of the dash framework, so I couldnt pull it out completely without re-wiring - and there was no way I wanted to touch any of that! Looks like a spiders web with a few birds nest's stuck in it! (So thats a fun job for winter!).

Seriously though, for the amount you have to remove to even get close to being able to do with with the dash in, you may aswell just take those last 6 bolts out and pull the dash forward at least!

However, my C now smells of warm :luvlove:

Not quite today but on Saturday treated the original to a 3 stage meguilars clean. Very shiny at the end ( hopefully won't need to spend loads of time on it when it comes to the RR day at Stealth) also took the stupid aero blades off and refitted normal bosch ones (aero blades to noisy). Now waiting for the headlight loom, foglight and mirror to arrive via post thanks to the sellers on here. I have to seriously get the car resprayed now as cleaning it has justed showed how stone-chipped the front end is. :(

how easy is it to fit? does it come on only when the ignition is off and lights are on? i was just thinking about this the other day because i let my battery run flat from leaving my lights on all day :(

Gave mine a proper wash. Got the orbital polisher out and used the swirl X all over the car... did an excellent job. I then finished off with the Meguiars NXT tech 2.0 Wax, again excellent stuff - its now nicely protected for the winter.

Though i've realised how stone shipped the front of my car is :( need to get a touch up paint.
