theRuler 0 Posted April 25, 2005 morning mangos! what's this part called i bought one for my car recently, from a ford garage. well a mate of mine who lives in the states, has a passat vr6 (the pic is of the part off his). VW say he cannot buy the part separately and has to buy the whole intake "boot" at a cost of 191 dollars!!!!! so the plan is i'll buy it here and post it to him. if i know the name of the part i can phone and get a price on it (and order it). when i bought the part for my car i eventually id'd it from a picture on the parts dept computer. cant really do that over the phone. this is what vw want to sell him -

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted April 25, 2005 It's the breather filter/valve. You can get it from Ford for about £30. Galaxy V6.

chubbybrown 0 Posted April 25, 2005 You used to get these on Either mk3 or Mk4 escorts and they were called in the trade 'Submarines' breathers well they were in our dealership anyway A bit of a variation but have a look and should be a lot cheaper than £
