Peugeot Forum/Advice Needed.

Recommended Posts

A friend of mine has a 106 Aztec on which the gearbox is shot and needs replacing. Given my limited knowledge of mechanicals, could anyone with experience of 106s tell me how difficult/easy a job this would be for 2 people and a Haynes manual. I'm also trying to find a Pug forum that isn't full of "I beat a Nova off the lights because I've got holes in my bonnet," to ask advice, but I'm having no luck so far.

Can anyone help out?

Cheers,

Tom

depends what model 106 it is,

if its the 1.0 to 1.4 TU petrol engine, shouldn't be very difficult the diesels and 1.6 engines have less space to work around.

Basically driveshafts need to come out (drain gearbox first)

Trolley jack under gearbox

Undo linkages/clutch cable etc

Undo starter motor

Undo nuts that hold g/box onto engine 13 IIRC

Undo gearbox from mounting which is located under battery/usually.

Hope this helps
