Would you buy a new Corrado?

Recommended Posts

All I can say is that if Alfa can stil sell GTVs and Spiders, Audi can sell TTs like they're going out of fashion, 2nd hand Fiat coupe 20V turbos are in demand, super fast new golfs available, all great cars, surely there has to be demand for a high end VW Coupe, or am I dreaming, or p!ssed?

That's freaking amazing!!!

£9k for a Mk1 Golf tho :?

Anybody know where the engines come from?

Or if they'd do that for the Corrado...

That would bring it into New Golf GTi territory, and THATS extremely tempting!

Hmmm yes it is. Guess who's been on the MK5 GTI 'Configurator' page this morning

I'm thinking £239 a month and then give it back after 3 years is kinda tempting....VERY tempting.

I managed to get it up to £24K with everything ticked, LOL!

My own preference would be Black, Anthracite Leather & Sunroof. Everything else can stay standard.

Then I'd take it to AmD for the 240bhp upgrade

The Citi-Golfs are pretty naff to be honest.... not made aswell as VW made them and the panel moulds are the originals from Wolfsburg, so are getting worn....which can be seen in the panel fit and finish.

I saw an E reg citi-golf a few years ago and it just didn't look as nice as the German MK1 we all know and love.

How would they compare to some of the other £9000 cars out there though like Ka's and so on?

The shame with the citi golf is that its 5Door

if it was a 3 I would have got one 2 years ago.

As for Corrados they were failures because of the price.

18k then ...dear me 18k now would be bad enough.

Not well. Brazil and SA don't have their own car industry (as in their own brands), so they just bought VW's old presses and factory jigs and just pump Beetles and MK1s out for the masses. It's still 60s/70s technology with a few minor emissions enhancements.
