Rick 0 Posted May 17, 2005 Hi guys, was just wondering where are the Corrado's tools such as the jack, screwdriver, wheel brace etc? I assumed (i've never looked) that they would be in the centre of the spare wheel, I looked and there was nothing there, am i being thick or are they somewhere else, or has the previous owner forgot to back in? Thanks
VR6 0 Posted May 17, 2005 That's where they should be ...
Phil K 0 Posted May 17, 2005 mine are there and tbh i've not seen them kept anywhere else in all the cars that I've owned... you should be able to get a replacment from a scrappy for a few quids - most VW's about the same age as yours will prob have the same kit... gradeAfailure 0 Posted May 17, 2005 Yeah, my tool kit was missing a couple of things so I went to the scrappy and got a complete tool kit out of another Passat (look for an 88-92, and Passats are a good bet as they're generally owned by old farts who keep the tools with the car... ;)) for only a fiver! You should have: Jack + winding handle Wheel brace with double-ended screwdriver in one end Separate double-ended screwdriver Possibly a small spanner of some sort, but it's cold outside and I have beer so I'm not going to look now! All in a moulded plastic tray, with a rubber securing strap
Rick 0 Posted May 17, 2005 Thanks for your help guys, just can't figure out why a mint car would have something as important as that missing  Should have checked really, guess i'll get a set from the scrappy
emoda 0 Posted May 17, 2005 Thanks for your help guys, just can't figure out why a mint car would have something as important as that missing  ...probably sold on ebay for £100's as a "Storm tool kit"
dinkus 10 Posted May 18, 2005 It should also have a black plastic U shaped thing for removing the plastic bolt caps and a wire U-shape thing for removing the wheel centre caps :)
Big-ted 0 Posted May 18, 2005 It should also have a black plastic U shaped thing for removing the plastic bolt caps and a wire U-shape thing for removing the wheel centre caps :) ... So THAT'S what it's for!! :D
Roger Blassberg 0 Posted May 18, 2005 Passats are a good bet as they're generally owned by old farts who keep the tools with the car... Steady now !! Not so much of the "Old". Best wishes RB
dinkus 10 Posted May 18, 2005 ... So THAT'S what it's for!! :D The plastic bit or the wire bit ;) Steady now !! Not so much of the "Old". But you're happy with the fart bit?
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted May 18, 2005 You can still buy the tools, jack etc from the dealer and also those other 'Corrado specific' and ultra rare items.....the First aid kit and triangle, LOL!
Roger Blassberg 0 Posted May 18, 2005 But you're happy with the fart bit? Yes, it always gives me pleasure. Best wishes RB
Supercharged 2 Posted May 18, 2005 Also note the Corrado Jack is Corrado only, a mk2 Golf one won't do! As Kev says - try the dealer
Henny 0 Posted May 18, 2005 in fact, the Corrado jack won't actually jack up some of the later VR6 cars as their suspension was too tall for the jack to actually get the car off the ground... :| That's not a joke by the way... Don't ya just luuurrrrvvvveeee VAG?!?
Phil K 0 Posted May 18, 2005 I noticed on mine that the jack point on my near side lifts both front and rear wheels and nearly does it on the off side but not quite due to suspension height... from what I have seen of the Passat jack it's identical to the C's if that helps!?! This can be confirmed if anyone wants me to check properly 8)
