Jim 2 Posted July 30, 2005 Lemme just point out that the guy posts on here.. And the engine work he has done on it is nothing to sniff at, believe me.

Who is it? :-P At least his car runs-which is more than can be said for mine at the moment.  But you gotta question the taste......

Jim 2 Posted July 30, 2005 Gotta say it.. I do like the Rieger wide kit. I'm of course now expecting to get pelted with rotten veggies ;)
sciroccotune 0 Posted July 31, 2005 i also like the kit, only thing i would do is have normal front lights and get rid of the pointless stuff like bonnet catches etc..
marcus 0 Posted July 31, 2005 Got my vote, looks like a good job, nothing tacky about it, supercar corrado! As long as its fast too though!

potatonet 0 Posted July 31, 2005 yeah I could say some mean stuff about that car, but I wont. I will follow the bambi rule, as far as power goes... I am sad to see its a 20V turbo... could at least be a VR or something beefy to go with the beefy image. I just want to point out that it looks like a honda with that kit... especially with the hood catches and the way he did the front end... =-/ I too do like the kit as long as its done with taste. I want his hood pins though... anyone know where to get those?
chrishill 0 Posted July 31, 2005 reiger kits are a bit of a 'cult' thing now though arent they? they're like the Dimma kits for the 205, they come from a time when OTT wide bodies were all the rage. Compared to 'modern day' styled corrados its a bit in your face and larey, but it reminds me of the wide arched BMW's, 205's and mk1 escorts i used to see as a kid and dream of owning, i dont think I'd have one now but its nice to be reminded. Blown 0 Posted July 31, 2005 Nice spec engine wise. I just don't like bodykits. Fair enough,he's gone for something different and a bit "retro",but I think bodykits really date a car verrrrry quickly. It's a fashion thing. IMO,it would've looked better with the same rims, angel eyes with an eybrow,a carbon fibre bonnet with chromed pins, and a dark coloured paint on the body. Subtle but with that "don't mess" kind of look.(like A20 LEE's!) There are just too many vents, slashes and bulges for my tastes. Although, running that engine,I suspect he needs all the cool air he can get!
bristolbaron 10 Posted July 31, 2005 saw this in newquay on rtts bank holiday.. still making up my mind!
potatonet 0 Posted July 31, 2005 well the engine sounds nice but I still second doubt it, doesnt that transmission cost an arm and a leg? how much money does this guy have, I MEAN REALLY? how does this guy afford to buy all these parts for his car and have them put in? they were having a conversation about how fast the thing would go... 200mph would never happen, I didnt the physics conversions for the wing and the drag coefficient produced by this kit, max speed should be at about 189 mph, plus or minus 2.46 mph. he said he got to 175, he did, the 500 hp wouldnt probably help it to 189 but after that his car would need to be flat as a rail, like a lamborghini =-D. rolex 0 Posted July 31, 2005 i love this pic 8) anyone else thinking lambo?? style wise. think if the kit was smoothed abit(not so many bits an bobs), i'd like it even more, topmarks 8) . as long as he's happy :-P performance wise.
MADDUB 0 Posted August 1, 2005 well i know some of you do not like it but it is so different and it is not at 500bhp at the mo having probs keeping the exzorst in one pice i had a play with my m8 in his gt4 440bhp and we were very close and as for the 200mph thing 175 was done with 240bhp 260lb so 500+ bhp and 450+lb will be no probs as long as i can keep her on the ground and don't take off but i will be giving it a try next year got new engine to put in first and some work to be done on the gearbox alan

NitroUK 0 Posted August 1, 2005 Hi Guys, Just thought i'd sign up and vouch for alans car being able to do 175mph and that was GPS verrified (plus i was in it at the time). The car is stunning and is a very smooth engine, can't fault it at all. Reiger GTO is a very stunning kit, and the ammount of heads it turns and smiles it puts on peoples faces are unreal. Kevin Bacon 5 Posted August 1, 2005 doesnt that transmission cost an arm and a leg? how much money does this guy have, I MEAN REALLY? how does this guy afford to buy all these parts for his car and have them put in? I don't think that's really relevant to be honest. The guy has selected some hardcore components to meet his objective, regardless of cost, respect due 8) Not a huge fan of the Reiger (except in Gixxer's overhead shot) kit I must confess - maybe if it was toned down a smidge - but I tell you what.....you'd move over quick sharp if you saw that haul up to your ar$e on the motorway 8)

stevemac 0 Posted August 1, 2005 I like the wide body idea but hate the big rear spoiler. Nice engine spec . :D Best one that I've seen was the Metallic blue, US spec VR6 that Suhks (Westside) has or had. I know many people on here know the car I'm refering to. So far as I'm aware, it was done by grafting wider wheelarches to the existing bodywork.
