Rear seat humpy bit brackety bit :?

Recommended Posts

I picked up a black interior with the rear hump(!) curtosy of weedwhacker and I want to fit it in my C. Now I currently have the ultra rare poverty spec bench seat, and it doesn't have a bracket for the centre arm rest to fix onto.

Is the bracket that I need welded onto the tunnel at the back just infront of the cross member that the seat sits on?

If so can anyone suggest what I can do? Does anyone have a spare brackety bit that I can have to put in my C?

(Que someone who is breaking a C with a centre armrested rear seat (Dinkus?))

i would be interested to see how you would get on with this. as most of the interior that comes up does have the hump. Henny has mentioned welding a bracket would be required, so if someone has done this please holler!

Could be worthy addition to the KB?

P.S I wouldnt call the hump a poverty spec, I can fit three people in the back of my car - once they're in they don't get out tho! :D

You called? :D

The 4 bolts on the arm rest hinged bit bolt into the top of the tunnel.

You'll need a different bit of centre trim (where the ash-tray goes) that has the holes in and I'm not sure if all C's had the holes in the tunnel in which to screw, so if not then as said, you'll need to weld a bracket in :?

dinkus, I already have the afore mentioned centre trim, when I changed all the interior bits for black items (taken from an early G60), but it has four square holes where the centre armrest bracket mounts through :?

Don't suppose you've still got your old shell that you could take a picture of the bracket for me? Would give me an idea how the bracket should look?

Cheers

Hmmm, I'd be interested in the result of this as I think scarlett's looking to swap her rear bench for a humped rear seat... Didn't realise it'd be such a pain! :(
