SIG60 0 Posted August 18, 2005 Hello peeps - just bought a 86' Golf GTI Convertible. It has Karmann badges on the side and these wheels:- does anyone know if they are VW wheels?? Also do you know if this would be a special edition if it has Karmann badges or were they all made in their factory?
chrishill 0 Posted August 18, 2005 AFAIK, like the corrado, they were all made by karmann
MoonlightVR 0 Posted August 18, 2005 All convertibles made by Karman, and those wheels are not VW.
Storm 0 Posted August 18, 2005 Those wheels could be early ronals with centre caps.
MoonlightVR 0 Posted August 18, 2005 Not with a curve on the spokes like these have. Certainly not VW issue wheels. Have you taken one off and checked it for markings?
sciroccotune 0 Posted August 18, 2005 I saw a set on ebay which i fancied some time ago - the seller did describe them as VW ??
SIG60 0 Posted August 18, 2005 Havent taken them off yet will do at weekend and have a look. I know it is not a Corrado but it is a bargain car was stored in a garage for over a year and got it for dirt cheap- I will post more pics soon!!
billinjah 0 Posted August 18, 2005 are they early audi wheels?
RW1 0 Posted August 18, 2005 are they early audi wheels? No, there's too much curve in the spokes to be any of the VW Audi multi spoke wheel styles.
Neil VR6 0 Posted August 19, 2005 I think they're Ronals too. There's a Mk 3 Golf I walk past every day to work with wheels that look identical with Ronal centre caps.
