Surfing Corrado Owners < How many boards!

Recommended Posts

Not sure if anyone has suggested this before, but thought I would post a few pics of an alternative to using the thule roofrack. I didnt like the thule system as it took ages to put on so I bought this kit from: http://www.handirackuk.com/

Its designed for a 4 door car but if you rap the rear around the boot and then pump it up, it works fine.

It only takes about 10mins to put on, and is very secure! I have driven down to Devon and back to Brighton with 4 boards on top, without loosing one!

The only thing which I realised was that if the slightest bit of grit or sand gets between the inflatable bars and the paint work its goodbye paint work! So I stuck a bit of non slip material between the surfaces and this seems to have done the trick! You also have to be slightly careful with your speed, anything over 90 and the thing wants to take off!!!

Hope this is off use to someone.

Think for comedy value we need to see the picture of Kev's car laden with about 800 kilo's of timber!

Don't you use a cover on your board when you drive around?

I'm walking distance from the beach too!

Ronan, mate my board is so old it doesnt need a cover! If I had some new kit then I would use one, but unfortuantly the corrado seems to soak up all my new kit funds!

Brighton is ok for surfing, I mainly windsurf there and drive down to croyde in devon for surfing! The waves are so much better, as you probably know! :)

Yeah Croyde is packed though usually. I can give you a few decent spots, depends if you like reef breaks or not, I don't, because I'm not good enough, and I will die. lol!

I've had 3 boards on the Thule with java straps!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also use the Dakine softrack on hire cars. The dakine always feels a hell of a lot safer!! But never had an issue with either and would never try that!!!!!!!
