whats "average" mileage ?

..always bugs me when advertisers put that  .. it's worth an 'average' ammount

I'd say that prices should slowly go back up a bit now that the festive period is over, it may be quiet for a bit , but in a few months I think raddo's will be priced more realisticly.

It sounds like its worth £2.5k- £3k?

EDIT-- having seen the slightly high mileage, it may be worth a bit less than that..

Depends who is looking to buy it. A trader would offer you book value and you'd be lucky to see 1500/2000.

Others might see that they could buy it and inspite of the mileage realise that most of the bits that fail/wear have been replaced already. Saving them a tidy sum. In which case it would be worth more to them.

A car of this age will pull money on condition and I would think that you could get circa £3K.

You should certainly aim to sell to an 'enthusiast' over Joe Public. The Autotrader probably not the best place to get the most money although the coverage is excellent.

so him expecting £3500 is bit much then?

Honestly I think so.. I only sold mine for £3,700 and it had a higher spec (black leather, Golf G60 intercooler, 207BHP, 16" speedlines, etc) and had about 106k on the clock. And that was when Corrado's were still fetching much better money than they are now.

I struggled to sell at that price too! Admittedly the first person to see bought it, but the buyers certainly were not beating my door down.

yep market at the mo is very dead and corrado's seem to be going very cheap even good ones which is a pity as they are going for the same price as a crappy one

good luck with the sale thou

bristolbaron, I was thinking that as well. It's got a few nice mods but it's done quite a few miles.

average mileage is 12k per year,so the mileage is about right,if you undervalue cars then the prices will never go up,look at escort cosworths, they are still selling for in excess of 15k..why?because the owners hold out until they get the right price for them, and the were built along side the corrado

I'm just comparing it to other cars for sale, like this and this. Yeh they're both VR's, but they're very cheap as well.

I'm sure this is a lovely motor as well but I can't see it getting near £3k.

I paid £2800 for mine in October, it Had 95K on the clock and has Leather (needed a good clean) and everything works (most of the time :D ).

Charger was due a rebuild but other than that its in good nick so I think £3,500 for a 170k miler is very optimistic.

Sorry if that not what you want to hear but I think if you're not realistic with your price it will be very hard to sell.

limited numbers of Escort Cosworths(iirc 5000-odd versus nearly 100k-odd )helps there too tho Dazzy............also they have a rallying heritage which also helps..........if you want to play the Karman card bit then the escort cabrio was also built there at near enough the same time.........not exactly the same thing to compare is it?

i know about the escort cosworths,i see more escort cosworths than i do corrados,i even go to work in one sometimes, the point i was making was that the owners over value them,a mate of mine bought one for 12k then 2 years later sold it for 14k why?because he over valued it,he then went out and bought another one for 15.5k,although they had a rally herritage they where a rallying flop and relatively sales flop
