logicaltuning 0 Posted February 10, 2006 has anyone had any experience of welding up the useless sunroof on their rado?? i dont use sunroofs at the best of times, and in our non functioning sunroofed rado we are considering welding it up when we take the rollcage further it will be useless anyway. has anybody got any advice on doing this mod?!?! slot 0 Posted February 10, 2006 Has anybody got any advice on doing this mod?!?! Yeh . . . . dont do it !!! This has gota be a joke right ? What's is the point ? 85% of the b@stard's dont work anyways, why goto the extreme of welding up a common fault ! :?: Also the roof lining wouldn't match and probably burn the pucker to the ground in the process !! IMO

logicaltuning 0 Posted February 10, 2006 i would just leave it shut nornally, but its decided to sit at a funny angle, and would need respraying anyway as its scrathced to buggery. dont fancy buying another shell, dont really have the room for it
dinkus 10 Posted February 10, 2006 If you weld it in, then you make the chassis more rigid and save the weight of the sunroof mech. I'd imagine any decent bodyshop can weld a plate in for you though.
billinjah 0 Posted February 10, 2006 yup i want to weld mine in one day although logical doesnt have a headlining if you wanted one its only a peice of cardboard!
daves16v 1 Posted February 10, 2006 You'll be putting alot of heat into the roof, it may start to buckle.
CoxyLaad 0 Posted February 10, 2006 btw your mate with the porsche didnt actually weld his sunroof, he just filled the gaps with catty. but bloody hell hes not frightened of attacking the car with an angle grinder is he!?!?!!!
corradophil 3 Posted February 10, 2006 Personally I would leave it alone, as daves16v says you will risk distortion of the roof panel when welding. Its a lot of work!
