Mileage adjustment

Hi

I know this has been asked before but my speedo has stopped working,1st it was intermittant then stopped altogether.

I have purchased another set of clocks but the mileage is 25,000 more :shock: .

Can i adjust it to match myself !

I know its ilegal but I am doing it for the right reasons is there anything I can do.

it only becomes fraud when you try and sell it on stating that its lower mileage than it really is,and i think i read somewhere that it only applies to traders,thats why they put stickers on the clocks saying they cant verify the mileage is true

my speedo stopped working a few months back it was the sender that is mounted on the back of the gearbox £20ish from local dealer,local fraudster charges £85 to adjust mileage,don't know if this helps you

My clocks are a bit of a mess =trip button snapped and pcb on lights is u\s

thats why I need 2 change.

if your car has 50k on it and you put a new speedo on it and change it to 50k what fraud has been done ?

I just dont understand why you think there would be.

 

if you dont ever sell the car you can put what ever milage on it you want as your not commiting a fraudulant act,ask anyone in the know.

chubbybrown correct, swapping a 50k for a 50k is not fraudulant but swapping a 100k for a 50k is (when selling), who's to say the car wasn't 50k before?
