Help my car hates me again!! problems found!!3/4/06

reaper - did you reconnect the broken lambda that was identified for you in a separate post, as that is a likely cause.

aide yep reconnected although not perfect it is all connected and it still does the same ....

I hope its not a fuel issue with mine too, however its been running ok not perfect but ok, I've now got the problem that the car wont start! If its not one thing its the other. I'm on the verge of giving up soon and selling it!

must admit it does get tempting to sell when your having these problems but what else would you buy thats as cool as a rado???

Well my poor rado was collected today! first time its moved for 3 weeks!!!

 

The problems causing the running faults are:

 

the throttle switch is dead! :mad:

the lambda probe is dead! :mad:

and lambda sensor wiring although the plug was repaired on a temp basis to see if it sorted the problems ...decided to get that done as well as the guy believes the contacts are still not good! :x

 

and all of this has caused all my problems :mad:

well the good news is it will be sorted and back to me for the weekend for me to fit my new audioscape door pods!!! :lol:

doh throttle switch.... that makes sense - good to get it sorted tho and it *shouldn't* cost you a packet!

thanks mistrall nice to at last know what is wrong!! hope it runs really well as its not been a cheap exercise, but atleast if anyone else has the problems they will have a good idea of where to look!!!

reaper1_3 throttle switch the prob! How much does it cost and can I do it myself. I will probably go to VAG to get one. I have replaced my Lambda probe last year when I did the CAT so I dont think thats a prob. Nice one though.

reaper1_3, probably a bit late to say this but I have a throttle position switch for sale if you need one? Otherwise they're £70 new from VW :roll:

I'd be looking for £30 mate... if yours is running OK then I doubt it's the switch at fault! Can't hurt to swap it though! Will have to give reaper first refusal though as I've posted it in his thread and he deffo needs one 8)

Phil K thanks for the offer but i have instructed specialist mechanic to order new bits seeing as they recovered the vehicle free of charge for me.... i thought it was the least i could do!!!! plus dont have to get my hands dirty again!!!

Well shes back at long last... am i gonna drive it all weekend or what!!!

after ive fitted the door pods etc!!!
