am i asking too much for my car

Recommended Posts

Hi all do you think I am asking too much for my corrado looking at other cars i thought she should be worth 5K. it might have been that it was a bad time of year to sell cars but its coming to summer not and thinking i want to get myself a new motocross bike so might advertise her.

Aslo where are the best places to advertise a car like this spec below.

very rare Turbotechnics corrado originally 1.8 16v now 1.916v. I bought the car in

-gearbox reconditioned up rated, VR6 clutch and a quiffe limited slip diff fitted

-full silicone hose kit

-an aqua mist water injection kit fitted

-corss drilled front discs and fast road pads all round

-new altinator, oil pump, water pump.

nice spec

unfortunately you never get your money back - unless you can find a like minded enthusiast.

GOOD LUCK with the sale -

I think 3-4 k would be more realistic

I agree with the Badger, it's very hard to get your money back on cars like yours, 9 times out of 10 the type of person that will want a car with such an awesome spec will want to build it themselves.

I think you're best off sticking it up for sale and just waiting for the right person to be ready to buy- and ENJOY t while you're waiting !

Best of luck :)

5k is decent VR6 money, and though no doubt your 1.9 16v is running great and pretty powerful, it simply doesn't have the breadth of appeal of a VR6 to the buyers out there. The rest of the car would have to be truly immaculate to reach 5k on a 16v.

Sorry can't advise on the best places to advertise, I only really know the CF .. :)

I'd suggest you ask for offers on the car. Maybe drop the price by £500 - £1000 and see if there's any takers..

I'd also just add that better pics might help your cause, from memory the ones in your advert were much like the one you have in your sig, simple, clear, daytime shots go along way.

places to advertise:

autotrader (obviously)

fish4cars.co.uk

exchange and mart

all forums you can find

pistonheads clasifieds

hope that helps, good luck!

autotrader mate. its expensive to advertise, but have you seen the price of rados on there? highest prices i've seen.

i reckon you should make more of it being a 16v TURBO as well. seems a bit under-played in the thread?

good luck :)

Petrolheads.com sold mine.

CF is a good bet with pics.

Or take it to shows. If its as tidy as you say people are often enquiring there.

Good luck.
