Sounds like this paint work will make a big difference - is it the local place we spoke about?? Your work sounds exactly like what I need doing so will be v interested to see how it all comes out.

Yeh, seems like a good price. The PDR is only £35 for the whole car! Just have to get the cash saved now- about halfway there at the mo- need to get on Ebay!

Jim, I guess it's actually not too far from you- especially if they do a really good job.

Vaughan, yep, same place in Cromhall.

Thanks Chris. It is nice- the interior especially so- not quite as nice as yours though! Hopefully when the paint is done, it'll be up to scratch ;)

Bought it from DaveStorm, who's been on here and a club member for years. He had it for around 8 years and was the second owner. A couple of years ago, I told him to give me a shout if he ever had to sell up, and the rest is history 8)

Well took her in for the MOT today at my local VW specialist (Blake Services, Stroud).

Passed with flying colours. Co2 emissions were just 0.01% 8)

Couple of minor advisories: handbrake cable + front wishbone bushes.

Well chuffed, especially with the emissions!

Nice one Andy - was that a natural or fast idle CO2 reading - I got 0.012% and 0.05% respectively - we should be getting a tax refund!

It was the natural idle. Fast idle was 0.03% 8) We should definitely be getting a refund!

Glad it passed OK Andy, saw Richard tonight and he was very complimentary about it.

Great news Andy, I was very confident it would fly through, mind you it had hardly done any mileage since the last one.. ;)

Forgot to say- also picked up my bonnet prop and rear bumper iron from the powder coaters. They look superb. Well worth doing the prop- it looks like new. Much cheaper than buying a new one for £40!

So, next jobs are:

Sort heater fan (completely packed up)

Fit refurbished fuel tank straps (thanks Ian!)

Fit refurbished bumper iron

Remove seats/carpets for a deep clean
