Taggart 0 Posted June 29, 2006 Looking to buy a Dremel, which is the best model to go for? Obviously cordless would be easier to use, but is it practical/powerful enough? And if anyone knows where to get one cheep...
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted June 29, 2006 I've used a cordless and a corded Dremel and find the mains one to have a bit more grunt tbh..... both are good though. B&Q is probably one of the cheaper places to get them..
Taggart 0 Posted June 29, 2006 B&Q is probably one of the cheaper places to get them.. Feckin hell, someone suggests a shop that we actually have on the Isle of Man!!!
Henny 0 Posted June 29, 2006 got myself a Black And Decker one from Homebase which is a serious bit of kit and comes with a 3 year guarantee.... Much better than the 3 cheapo ones I'd had and killed within a couple of months in the past... 8)
Supercharged 2 Posted June 29, 2006 I've got a cordless one and it's pretty good, just have to remember to charge it after use... the fact that it's cordless is handy for anything car related... I think they now do a new Lithium-ion one...
craigowl 0 Posted June 29, 2006 I have had a mains Black and Decker for about 4 years - it always seems to deliver OK.
saysomestuff 0 Posted June 29, 2006 Has anyone found the Dremel to be insanely noisy at full tilt, mine whines really loudly. To the point I only use it on low!

Yep, but I got a set of bits for about £4.99 from Lidl, all in a neat wooden box about a couple of years ago. They will probably come up again some time. Niges16V 0 Posted July 1, 2006 Aren't the Dremmel's a bit weedy and expensive for what you get? Compare it to the air tools available - £20 for a whizzer. Don't think you have the choice in accessories though
Supercharged 2 Posted July 2, 2006 black and decker one is the business i got one, works really well, (has anybody seen the prices of dremel bits in B+Q tho!! really expensive!! Individually yes but they do a kit with loads in it for £20...

EDIT - this is what I have, 145 pieces... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000C ... e&n=228013
