Which Dremel to buy?

Recommended Posts

Looking to buy a Dremel, which is the best model to go for? Obviously cordless would be easier to use, but is it practical/powerful enough?

And if anyone knows where to get one cheep...

I've used a cordless and a corded Dremel and find the mains one to have a bit more grunt tbh..... both are good though.

B&Q is probably one of the cheaper places to get them..

got myself a Black And Decker one from Homebase which is a serious bit of kit and comes with a 3 year guarantee.... Much better than the 3 cheapo ones I'd had and killed within a couple of months in the past... 8)

I've got a cordless one and it's pretty good, just have to remember to charge it after use... the fact that it's cordless is handy for anything car related...

I think they now do a new Lithium-ion one...

Yep, but I got a set of bits for about £4.99 from Lidl, all in a neat wooden box about a couple of years ago. They will probably come up again some time.

Aren't the Dremmel's a bit weedy and expensive for what you get? Compare it to the air tools available - £20 for a whizzer. Don't think you have the choice in accessories though

Individually yes but they do a kit with loads in it for £20...
