biggerbigneil 0 Posted July 4, 2006 Just been talking with Ben about what we'd have for an only car for £15k tops. Must be fun, quick, look good, good build quality, girls should like it (very important). It must be used for the daily commute, poncing around and going to posh restaurants as well as going to car meets and having some road races in. The current list: - Edited 06/07/06 Audi S3, TT (sorry) BMW E46 330ci/d, E36 M3 Honda S2000 Lotus Elise S2 Porsche 911 (964), 944 S2 Cab, 968 Club Sport/Sport Vauxhall VX220 VW Golf R32 What do you rekon is important for an only car? A factor also to consider is that it will get left out now and again when too drunk to drive so can't be a vandals dream - Escort Cosworth
Guest Posted July 4, 2006 does a VR with a Charger and resray not count? :( that would be my choice ;)
Bally 0 Posted July 4, 2006 15k.. damm theres me thinking of getting a breadvan polo for £50 lol
Andy665 0 Posted July 4, 2006 MK4 R32 or 968 Sport (better all rounder than the Club Sport) for me. Mind you for a lot less than 15k I've got my fleet, OE+ V5 Bora, two G60's and a MK1 GTI Cab
corradophil 3 Posted July 4, 2006 Seat Leon Cupra R, Civic Type R. Although for that money I'd want a 6 cylinder really, so an S4 would probably be my choice.
biggerbigneil 0 Posted July 4, 2006 Bally - not saying we have £15k, just car choices at a reasonable budget ']['H3R4POR - not modified I'm afraid Andy665 - like you're thinking, if it could be two I'd have an John's 16VG60 or an old Chimera (8k) and an old Golf. 1 car is more difficult! Andy665 0 Posted July 4, 2006 Thinking about it some more there's something very appealling about a last of the line XJS - pretty well built in their later days and have a certain style about them nowadays
vr6storm 0 Posted July 4, 2006 964 Carrera 2 or 4
biggerbigneil 0 Posted July 4, 2006 Jag XJS - road races... every day - petrol = 1.5 mpg 964 - hmmm very interesting, the convertible ones look very nice indeed! Kind of pushing over £15k though and I guess servicing costs would be silly? If I get a job at Porsche, I'll get one!
steve_16v 0 Posted July 4, 2006 E39 M5, or increase the budget a little and go for an NSX
GIXXERUK 0 Posted July 4, 2006 what about a vx220 or a vx220 turbo 0-60 in 4.5 secs , cheap to service and a chick magnet :-)

Lippy 0 Posted July 5, 2006 have you seen what prices passat w8 are knocking out at sub 10K for a 275 bhp Q car. Be ideal for a commute and with some subtle mods would look cool as I'm tempted by one if I could afford it
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 5, 2006 E55 AMG for £15K? I don't think so...... but 500+lb/ft, I'd have me some of that. Ultimate sleeper. For pulling relatively decent birds, it's got to be a black merc of some description, CL500, SL55 etc but you're well up into the mid 30s for those. For pulling skanks, all you need is the Escort cossie. For driving (the important bit), then Honda S2000, Elise, Vauxhall and 968.

If shes pullable on the basis of you owning a 30k car, shes not a decent bird.
veedub 0 Posted July 5, 2006 Audi RS2 Avant? practical and quick enough to set you hair on fire!! And probably some change for the back pocket too!!
chrishill 0 Posted July 5, 2006 I still reckon the s2000 fits most of your criteria, fun to drive, looks good, its a soft top so practically any woman will be happy to be a passenger in it (provided you have a rear wind deflector to preserve their hair) they're unusual enough to have an air of exclusivity and in black with some smart alloys they look like they're much more expensive than they really are. You are very nieve if you think women aren't attracted to posh cars.

biggerbigneil 0 Posted July 5, 2006 Kev: - http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/73779.htm there's a £11,500 E55 AMG for you! Okay this isn't suppose to be a car for pulling... it's just a factor into the purchase that girls should like them - for example we met some hot crumpet at Henley who said they'd never get in a Subaru. On the notes of shallow - I'm not looking to get married just yet! The looks and handling and performance are the most important criteria. Porsche 968 is winning at the moment VR6 - that was suppose to be a R32 or Corrado Storm Jimbo - post some pics up of your S3 - I want a black one with white leather and low miles!
