ardandy 0 Posted August 1, 2006 Sun visors. A bonnet, you can give it to me! :)
chrishill 0 Posted August 1, 2006 i wouldnt remove the PAS if i were you mate, they're f'kin heavy without it! if you're getting rid of the sunroof then obviously the motor for that can go, which is a bit of a lump. might be worth getting H8RRA to take some snaps of the front of his VR, behind his bumper, for you since he's removed quite a bit of metal in order to fit his intercooler. I think beyond removing all the creature comforts and toys you can think of, your next step really is going to be swiss chessing the chassis.
ardandy 0 Posted August 1, 2006 Rear VW badge is pretty weighty! :)
double-6s 0 Posted August 1, 2006 Chris - not sure H*RRA is gonna be up for doing anything for me mate - bit of a spat the other day......
ardandy 0 Posted August 1, 2006 Don't forget before you go round the track in it to take a dump and whack one out! Should be good for a bit of weight!
Andi 2,147,483,647 Posted August 1, 2006 Spare wheel. It's only tested in the MOT if it's present. Can of Tyre Weld should do you ok ;) If you lose the dash, you can lose of the air circulation stuff, blower motors, etc.. Should be a considerable weight save. double-6s 0 Posted August 1, 2006 Do you not need screen-clearing capabilities for the mot Andi? i.e. a fan?
Andi 2,147,483,647 Posted August 1, 2006 Don't think so... It's like with the wipers - only tested if present! (But in this country, I doubt you can get away without wipers!)
Vmax 0 Posted August 1, 2006 Don't think so... It's like with the wipers - only tested if present! (But in this country, I doubt you can get away without wipers!) You can if your car doesn't have a windscreen, a la Caterham Fireblade

double-6s 0 Posted August 2, 2006 sorry but thats just wrong! why! in a rado! just drive the thing mate. stick some music on when you get bored of hearing 'waaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrp' ;) what do you want a computer in your car for? (serious question)
ardandy 0 Posted August 2, 2006 Why not? Fitting a new engine I can't do, but computers I know, so I can do that! :) Don't think I'll put my screen there though, wouldn't know how to make the surround for one! :) Bringing the C up to date! Satnav will be handy, as will vids and vag-com on tap. Plus not many have done it before.

double-6s 0 Posted August 2, 2006 Well I thought you'd need screen-clearing capabilty but Andi reckons not. Some things may well be removed post-mot ;)
