mattnorgrove 0 Posted September 5, 2006 I agree, a lot of females haven't got a clue behind the wheel... Glad to say the missus is an exception to the rule, she owns a 2002 miami blue beetle 1.8 turbo (which gives the C a good run for its money, she always bottles out first tho) and she drives like the devil himself is behind her... Good girl...
amdmad 0 Posted September 5, 2006 In my opinion, not all women drivers are bad. But the most of the young ones i've seen driving FRENCH SHIT BOXES! drive dangerously and usually end up smashing into a bus while trying to drop off or collect their little illegitate child. They then cause lots of queue's of traffic and i have to wait because of them showing off too much and not able to take the bend at the right speed or whatever. not all are bad tho. But i do think they try to show off way too much...and sometimes they are even worse than their male counterparts.
mattosmond 0 Posted September 5, 2006 ammad, so your talking about chavs! when you say illegitimate child! :)

steve_16v 0 Posted September 5, 2006 In all honesty I've seen a lot more bad male drivers than female drivers in the 9 years I've been driving. Not in terms of parking and manouvering but in general arrogance, ignorance and being downright dangerous to other road users. Saying that though, the most spectacular crash I've seen was a women though, approaching a blind left hander I was greeted by a zafira fishtailing across the road, she lost control, swerved onto the bank making the car leap into the air and do a barrel roll over the hedge and into the adjoining field, which was about four foot lower than the road level. Spectacular to see, like a stunt out of the dukes of hazzard! Luckily she crawled out (ended up on its roof) unharmed if somewhat shaken. I was a bit shaken as well to be honest, I was doing about 50 and if I'd been a few seconds further on it would have hit me head on, which would have hurt! Anyway, the worst ones though are the pensioners well into their 70s and 80s that still drive, unfortunately there are a lot of them where I live so you've gotta be careful on the roads. amdmad 0 Posted September 5, 2006 lol speaking of pensioners, i read an article in the news a few years ago about a pensioner who having bought his new hyundai getz, went to test it out. drove it off a hill or something like that, and it landed on top of a modified saxo that was parked in a sainsburys carpark (may have been tesco)
steve_16v 0 Posted September 5, 2006 Good skills taking out a paxo! One oap down here managed to 'ramraid' the threshers on the high street whilst attemting a simple manouvre, and another has one of those mobility scooters and has knocked other pensioners over with it then driven off completely oblivious! They're a menace I tell you!
vwdubs 0 Posted September 5, 2006 Well I had to check my Mrs car the other day as she said the exhaust was banging, funny enough it was as it had no exhaust rubbers but that wasnt her fault. What was though is the fact that when I jacked the car up it felt funny so I decided to check the tyre pressures and found 12 psi in 3 tyres, when I asked her about it she said "well I dont worry about things like that the garage does that does'nt it". At the same time I have only ever been in 3 car accidents, all 3 not my own. Two of the accidents have been rear shunts one writing my corrado off and have been women on the phone, say no more. But in fairness not all women are the same...
amdmad 0 Posted September 5, 2006 when my best friend gets a car i'll be getting her to check her tyre pressures regularly. like once a week. Thats how i do mine or more sometimes.

But in fairness not all women are the same... cant you sue them for more cus they was braking the law? I like lady drivers there nicer to look at  and they dont tend to get agressive (some do!!the nuts ones) the only thing ladys tend to do is cut you up on rounabouts 2 lanes , they use both , so not using the mirrors and cutting the roundabout off dangerous thing to do , and i seen a young lady try to overtake a lorry (the big ones 60 ft?) on a roundabout , she just had to crash into it as the traler came in  her car was so smashed up . amdmad 0 Posted September 5, 2006 A lot of women are under the misguided impression they can drive badly, cause accidents because of their gender and can get away with it. there's countless stories where women even try to get out of parking tickets, speeding etc by trying it on with the police. eg: the model caprice

It crashed and they died. Fancy thinknig that cruise control could actually drive a car!!!! :cuckoo: :confused4: :cuckoo:
StuartFZR400 0 Posted September 6, 2006 Men make cars intimidating to women, most girls know 'something' however they don't want to ask questions/say what they think for fear of being shot down... Yeh but don't worry, a lot of men know jack-**** about cars too. Women drivers - on the whole - are useless. Agreed ;) the only thing ladys tend to do is cut you up on rounabouts 2 lanes , they use both , so not using the mirrors and cutting the roundabout off dangerous thing to do , Deluk Tell me about it. Had one this week. Almost took the C out. Her eyes were fixed straight ahead, even when I went past on the duel-carriageway. But someone did say men are worse. Normally would agree there, and Im sure I've said this before, but women are getting more aggresive too. All ages too, not just the teenagers. But the subtle difference is that if you beep your horn at a woman who has drifted into your lane, they often ignore you, whereas a bolke will take the effort to either cut you up worse and start using his fingers, or boot it hard. The awareness does bother me; can't afford to be oblivious when travelling faster or swapping lanes. Im sure its a inherant problem, related to the poor-parking spacial-awareness thing. ::: Only today I went past one of those Hyundi coupes at the start of a sliproad to the M6; noticed an escort going past a lorry on the slip, and also noticed a massive fladbed lorry on the M6 doing a good lick. Knew that the lorry + escort were cutting it close to get out infront of the Flatbed; so immediately broke gently, with about 200yds to merge, and let the Flatbed get ahead of me. Meanwhile dizzy binter woman undertook me, trying to show me how its done as she didnt like being overtook in her "fast car" and got upto the lorry on the sliproad. Lorry slid infront of the Fladbed nicely, I slid in behind the Fladbed and watched lane 2 traffic wizz past us. While Dizzy Hyundi woman broke, stuck indicator on and tried to continue to come out at me - while ive got traffic passing me on my right; sounded my horn, she looked dumbfounded and came to a stop. Lost count of the number of women I've seen in the past 2 months who let go of the steering wheel with both hands to see to thier hair. Maybe men are as bad with whatever they do - be it looking for paperwork/mobile/cigar/whatever. Maybe its just there are lost of bad PEOPLE on the road; genders just show some generalised areas of fault. You can't knock women drivers..... Remember that Top Gear episode with that German Bird!!! Made me laugh the way she did Clarkson over on the track... Think my nan could drive quicker than Clarkson. LOL Wont let the GF drive my C; her new car has far too many scratches for my liking. "it just appeared, honest"

saysomestuff 0 Posted September 6, 2006 That cruise control thing was a true story. It was a guy in America, bought an RV and sued the company coz it (obviously) crashed when he put it in cruise and went in the back, as the manual hadn't said that you couldn't. He won
Guest Posted September 6, 2006 My mum is a nightmare though, when she eventually manages to get into the "stupidly low car". same here mate  last time she was in it I stopped for petrol, and she couldn't get out, like a turtle on it back, sooooo funny :D My missus doesn't really understand cars, just that it gets her where she wants to go. my sister on the other hand loves cars: (2 weeks ago at Rockingham)

gixxer 0 Posted September 7, 2006 Gotta say that my missus is spot on. She bought me my C cos I'd just lost my job just to cheer me up! :D But in general its not just women who are bad drivers IMO, the standard just keeps going down. If people were made to take their bike test before they got a car licence we wouldn't have half the problems on the road
asp* 0 Posted September 7, 2006 It's not always a bad thing that people don't know much about cars... I got my first Corrado two weeks ago and since then 3 people (inc. 1 bloke) on separate occasions have asked me if it's the same as the car from Back to the Future. Now, I like the Corrado, but it doesn't bother me if people think I'm driving round in a De Lorean either! ***goes off to draw up plans for new device that releases flammable liquid from two pipes at the back of car which will subsequently be ignited once speed reaches 88mph***
