What does everyone think of the black Corrado in PVW ?

I think it looks good and i'd probably have it. I know, i know its a shame

to butcher a C but i think he's pulled it off very well.

Paul mate, have you seen the other thread on this car?

Ok so some of the mods are quite well exectued, but some of them are equally ridiculous!

Got to admit though that from that picture, it doesn't look too bad though.

It came across really well in the magazine and some features on the car are particularly nice - perhaps the eBay advert just didn't come across very well.

That said I still think the front end is wrong, and there are a number of other things I don't particularly like on the car.. such as front bumper, the vents on the rear arches (why?!) and the centre exit exhaust.

But it seemed a bit hypocritical of Performance VW to poke fun at Saxo (and similar) owners of cars with bodykits, yet say that its 'ok' to do such things on a Corrado because its a Corrado.. I admit there are a lot of badly done boy racer cars, but as the blue Corrado posted earlier this evening by Majik would testify, it definately works both ways, and PVW shouldn't be so quick to poke fun.

So I guess some things on that car are nice.. it sits just right on those 18's, it looks immaculate, and some of the more subtle body mods are good.. but i'm definately not a total fan. If it didn't have the mashed up front end, I think i'd be more interested.

Oh.. and this is just my opinion :) Please don't think I am trying to cause an argument or anything :(

It looks ok in the picture. I haven't seen the PVW yet for a closer look although, on closer inspection (or in real life) that sort of work is usually a bit suspect.

Not for me... thanks!

there is a much cheaper way of getting the corrado headlights to work, its called a upgraded loom.

why anyone would want to put golf light on a C!!

sorry the car still looks horrible in pvw if you look at the photos they are taken in dark areas so that the mods are not so much in your face

the only thing i can praise the owner is that he built it to be original (i.e some thing no one else has done and you wander why) but then all modded cars get commented on.

I still remember when my first came out two years ago at inters i got a email from someone that i had disgraced a corrado by doing what i did but then i didnt care because it was one person against loads others so i must have done something right :D unless you guys are holding back lol

Anyway did someone actually by this??? and as for the comments its feature in pvw according to people i know that feature was done before it was put up for sale.

Also agree with you Jim on your comments about PVW youll never now they might feature that blue 16v in there aswell

just my 2p's worth

front end looks like a nissan 100nx, which is never a good thing!

looks nicely modded in that picture, cant see too much of the detail, but i cant help but think it'd look better with a 'normal' front.

nice bodywork can be done on any car at a price. why throw money at a car to make it look like another *far more plentiful car*??? the corrado is so limited and parts are becoming scarce, they get smashed up, etc... why would you want to make yours look like any old grocery getter A4 golf? an NX-lookin corrado golf...

if you want a golf, buy a golf.

there's a couple turbo NXs around here... fuggin ugly little things with their badly mounted ICs poking out..

at the end of the day a corrado is a corrado..you can get a 1.3 escort to look like a cosworth but a corrado is a corrado end of story :D

[:start2p:]

Just because a mod is possible doesn't mean that it's a good mod. There's no doubting the skill employed on the bodywork but on the other hand the design/look of the car just doesn't work. Grafting the bulbous headlights from a MkIV onto the angular front of the Corrado was always going to look bloody odd. I don't think I want to talk about the scoops over the rear arches...

The modified rear wing was interesting, but the photos really didn't do it a lot of justice cos they were so dark you couldn't make the detail out.

I think the real shame of this is that this is a N-reg car which pre-mods had a fair bit of value in it. Now it's probably worth fuck all to most enthusiasts.

I think Jim Cotton summed it up in the letters page (AARRGGHHH 32) in same mag; the curves don't suit the corrado's shape. OK, it's different; but next to a standard corrado, I know which I would pic, sorry Steve.
