Finally the new Dub Project.... Another set of wheels!

Recommended Posts

Well if its anything as good as good as your Corrado was it'll be amazing.

Was going to ask either yourself or Ben if you knew where to get new outer rims for the Porsche Cup3s you have/had.

oi!

I distinctly remember you telling me that I would not benefit from fitting 4wd to my corrado......I take it you have changed your mind then?

:D

LOL. Yeah I am sold on proper Haldex. Syncro stuff is not a patch on it, but Haldex is definately worth it.

Superlite wheels is the place to get outer rims from mate.

I missed this! That is a fine choice of project car. Good luck with it.

I've been considering 4MOs myself (R32s still too expensive) to stick the 3.0 turbo into. I'll see how yours turns out styling wise and go from there :-)

excellent news you're back in a dub Jay :)

sorry, I missed this thread some how. The Golf looks a little tame now, but I am sure all that will change, the transformation on your C was unbelieveable, and unrecognisable :)

good luck mate, I look forward to seeing the results :)

Cheers lads.

The Golf will probably follow a similar process to the Rado, although maybe not as extreme. :) I am going to concentrate on getting the outside how I want it first, then the interior, then the engine, but that will be over a good couple of years. Obviously I will keep you all posted as I go along :)

Good luck with the project

nice to hear everyone is singing haldex's praise now after it being panned not so long ago.... not proper 4wd etc. ;)

Im in the process of doing the suspension on my S3. I THINK im going for H&R springs, Koni FSD Dampers, R32 rear ARB, H&R 10/15mm spacers.

Well I have sort of started on a couple of the body mods, but I want to keep those quiet for now.

Will be going on the Rollers at stealth on Sunday, just to make sure its running OK. So will update with the figures I get then :)

I will have something more significant eventually I promise.

Little update

The first step was made yesterday towards building the new project into the car I want . I visited my mate (CAV off the ED38 forum) for a day of detailing on the car. Now the paint on the car was OK, but had 6 years worth of scratches and grime on it. So CAV set about giving the paint a full once over with the Porter Cable and various cutting compounds, glazes, clays and waxes. Poor bloke was knackered at the end of the day. The results speak for themselves!!! AWESOME. The car now has a shine like my Corrado had when it was freshly painted and I am blown away by the colour! If you fancy getting your car detailed properly I can't recommend CAV enough. Top bloke and top top job.

A massive thanks to CAV for all his hard work and I can now get the bits I will be modifying to match this finish and I am now seriously looking forward to getting the wheels on.......

Cheers guys. I will keep the updates coming.

Paul - I don't think he actually did mate, not a mark on it. The front end will be getting paint anyway! :)
