The corrado Specialists

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,im looking at buying my 1st corrado, ideally a vr6,theres a place local to me called the corrado specialists, who seem to have a good selection of them, has anybody ever dealt with them before? They have a nice silver vr6 on there website, but normally i steer clear of traders. They are always on the autotrader and ebay with wanted ads, infact when you look for a corrado on the autotrader, all you get is there ads!!

Any help or advice would be great!!

i don't know much about them but i'm sure someone else will

but if i was you i'd check out the cars for sale section here, as there's some good bargains to be had!

think its better to buy from an enthusiast whose looked after the car rather than traders looking for profit!

Try the classifieds on the pistonheads website, they always have a reasonable selection. And if you don't know a lot about cars (and Corrados specifically) consider getting an AA/RAC check and/or taking a member from here along with you when you check out a prospective buy. There's a sticky thread in the 'Cars For Sale' forum of nice people offering their assistance in return for a pint and a thank you. The VR6 is quite a complicated engine and Corrados in general are getting old and the poorly-maintained ones can be a bit of a money pit, so ask for help here and don't jump in. It took me four months to find my 16v, and it probably cost me a bit over the odds but it was worth it in the end to get a good example.

That guy used to advertise on here, but always seemed a bit of a geezer. No idea what the cars he sold were like tho.

The VR's seem to have had a price drop lately, so I would hang on and get one from someone on here, like you say, why line a traders pocket, when you could buy from an enthusiast, and more likely know more of the actual history of the car, not just whats in the service book.

Happy hunting!!

(P.S. I jumped in with 2 feet and bought an Ebay special, and although she's never let me down, I personally wouldn't go down that route again.)

I would assume that he's an enthusiast, that's why he only sells Corrados

If the car is well priced, and is a nice example, then why the hell would you care who it's being bought from? I really don't get the attitude that all traders are scum tbh, no-one has a problem 'lining other people's pockets' when it comes to any other purchase or service so why should buying a car be any different? :?

I dont think traders are scum, id just feel more comfortable buying a car from someone where it has been their pride and joy rather than a trader..

I dont know anything about the trader in question and agree if thats the right car at the right price then go for it..

I'd personally stick to private sales, as said above, there are plenty around atm

Agree with you Walesy, of course all traders aren't scum. Everyone has to make a living.

Mikey I think if you like the look of the car go and see it in the metal check it out really well, take if for a good drive but don't get carried away as there are there seem to be plenty for sale at the minute for good prices.

volkscars this the one in Kinver, something like that. he has quite good cars dont know where he finds them from. But in all honesty they are usually way overpriced and when he refused an AA/RAC inspection on a car i was seriously intersted in i walked away. He had his reasons which i understood, but if your paying over the odds you want to make sure you are not going to get caught out. This was a few years back mind and things may have changed!!
