stevef182 0 Posted May 11, 2007 i need some new rubber for my 17'' borbet As. theyre 7.5'' wide and one garage told me i could have either 205/40/17s or 215/40/17s but another said that the 205s would be too narrow for a 7.5 inch wide wheel and would not be possible! any suggestion on what would be best as dont want to waste the money as we all know, tyres aint cheap! RS VR6 0 Posted May 12, 2007 The 205's will be just fine. That shop is lame. 205 40 17 on 17x7.5.
alex303 0 Posted May 12, 2007 2nd what RS VR6 said the 205's will be fine, sounds like the garage is just being a bit over cautious!

Tekara 0 Posted May 12, 2007 Another 205 user on 16x7.5's, only a slight stretch which means you loose a little of the tires rim protection.

GTi.Si 0 Posted May 13, 2007 Go for 205's if the car is that low. I had 205/40 16's on my 9's and they were fine. Just don't get to close to curbs!
