OSV 0 Posted November 13, 2003 For me its simple, i'm a VW enthusiast through and through.I have owned many different VWs but must confess a passion for GTIs and have owned MK1s and MK2s from 8v to G60. I have always appreciated the Corrado for its styling, handling and performance, build quality and refinement. :D How about you. Are you VW enthustasts, or into sports coupes. Or some other reason.. Henny 0 Posted November 13, 2003 I guess I could be classified as a certified VW nut... I started messing with cars at a Beetle specialists which made me appreciate the engineering behind them and it's been a progression from there... :) Type2 bay window van, Beetle, MKI GTI 1.6, MKI 1500 auto, MKI GTI 1.8 (which became the 16V I've still got in bits!), Corrado 1.8 16V, MKII GTI 8v, Corrado G60 (J-dub) and MKII 1.6 Driver at the moment due to not having an engine in J-Dub! I've always liked the look of the C and when I left uni I decided I was going to get myself a nice car... Either a MKIII GTI or a 'rado... Test drove a MKIII and was disappointed... Test drove a 'rado and bought it!  For the 3 years after I wrote my first C off I felt that I was missing something, kinda sad I know, but that's how it was until I bought my current G60... 8) I'm now just missing my C a bit 'cos I know she's in my back garden and will be back on the road in a better form than ever soon... 8)

Jake_C_G60 0 Posted November 13, 2003 well i was going to put some Corrado headlights into my Scirocco front, then i realised why not buy a Corrado instead! so i did, also because i wanted something newer and now i have full options wich i didn't have with the Rocco 8)

Majik 0 Posted November 13, 2003 The muscular styling, flared wheelarches, electric spoiler and the centre armrest man i dont what the vw designers were on, but whatever it was it was some good siht!

G60 0 Posted November 13, 2003 i'm a bit backwards to most of you. wasn't particularily into dubs.. but loved the shape of the corrado. wanted one for years, eventually bought my G60 and got a job at the local stealership so i could fix it up on the cheap. after working there and all the time i've spent looking at pics and crazy engine configurations of dubs, now i'm hooked. 2nd corrado shell has been purchased and mk1 golf (rabbit) coming soon! for me it was the full corrado styling package. wheel arches, leccy spoiler, low wide mean stance.. then once i became familiar with the G60 engine, i knew an early corrado was the car for me!!
Jake_C_G60 0 Posted November 13, 2003 tis a shame too, Roccos look cool as ... with Rado lights fitted I still got the rocco and i'm planning on fitting the C-lights, but first my Corrado needs a respray and some additional styling.

Sanj 0 Posted November 13, 2003 For me it was the shape of the car, I saw it at a car show at Earls Court years ago when I was just a kid and just thought to myself I want that. :D Years later when I could finally afford to buy one, I did, so just living out one of my dreams :D My other dream is to own a Porsche 911. :D
Spykee 0 Posted November 13, 2003 well it all goes back to when i was about 9yrs old......... as an already lifelong car obsessive my dad had a friend living in germany who came over for a visit and guess what he arrived in.... yep you've got it a brand new Corrado.... a G60 in Dark Burgundy Pearl to be precise!! he took my dad and i for a quick ride down a windy road or two nearby and all i remember is sitting in those bucket seats watching the spoiler lift and being glued to the back of the seat! :D so i fell in love with the car instantly and knew that i had to own one some day! i spotted my 'C' in the classifieds while in dubai at the age of 17 for less than sod all cos cars are tax free out there and never looked back...... i am so glad i didn't buy that Jeep wrangler a week earlier!! the other thing was that i had one of only 6 Corrado's in the whole of the United Arab Emirates 8) which meant eveywhere that i went i felt doubley great cos everyone looked and not a lot kept up! :D the engine sound and acceleration, the muscular looks, the way it handles... i have never driven anything better for handling and i have driven a lot of things. i was sadly parted from the car for a year  but my dad had it in California and every day i drove round here in my mk4 Escort i longed to have another VDub and would have given a kidney to have the rado again. it didn't get to that stage of desparation tho cos my dad shipped it over here to the UK about 2 years ago :D and its starred at me like i have neglected it every time i have gone into the garage ever since! being a student for the last 4 years i couldn't afford to do anything, but now..... everything is starting to look brighter! its going for the MOT on monday, which will inevitably raise some problems :? but once sorted all its down to is a 25 quid registration fee..... watch this space!! :D :D :D :D
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted November 13, 2003 What attracted me? Seeing two Storms in my dealer (one Mystic Blue and one Classic Green) 8 years ago  The interior - just look at the scuplted rear bench and front bucket seats, nothing came close at the time. The huge bonnet and slab front end  Big round and flared arches! Like the MK2 Golf, it looks great from all angles. And all that is before you actually get in and drive it 8) Kev
Joe M 0 Posted November 13, 2003 What attracted you to the Corrado? The reliability. Seriously, I never knew much about cars a few years back so when I bought my 16v my thoughts were "that looks good, and its a vw so wont go wrong."
Chris VR6nos 0 Posted November 13, 2003 Almost all of the above and the V6 engine! Grunt. Phat. Chris
stevemac 0 Posted November 13, 2003 i'm a bit backwards to most of you. wasn't particularily into dubs.. but loved the shape of the corrado. I'm with you on this one G60 On the whole I really don't/didn't like VW's at all (even though I used to work for them !! ) 18 months ago, I needed a second car and I wanted something which looked okay, cheap and had reasonable performance. I ended up buying an old Scirocco Scala 1.8i - great car, good acceleration, nice looks & fairly cheap to run. In time, I grew to like it more & more. I changed jobs earlier this year & lost my company car. I had a drive in a friend's Corrado and decided to buy one. I'm heading towards another company car soon but I'll definitely be keeping the Corrado !!

Jim 2 Posted November 14, 2003 Rareity, the following behind it, the respect genned up motorists give you for driving one, and those superb looks.. theres nothing NOT to like about the Corrado. Apart from the fact something breaks on a weekly basis :)
