When asking around at the various ways of cleaning up pistons quite a few people have said c*ck... er, I mean Coke. I'm not sure if this is true or not but since I now have so many spare pistons I thought I'd try it. :lol:

 

 

Coke. Please note: other horrendous chemicals are available.

 

 

So 4 litres of Coke and 4 pistons in a bucket = quite a lot of fizzing.... I don't think I'm going to be drinking Coke for a while. :pale:

 

 

After about 20 minutes the reaction started to look like this.

 

 

As you can see there is a thin film of joobaldy goop on the surface of the Coke. Nothing much has really happened so far yet though so I'm gonna leave it over night and see what the score is. :D

Not much to report I'm afraid. Has taken off quite a lot of the carbon but they're not shiney or anything. I'd probably give Coke 3 out of 10 as a Piston cleaning agent.

Now that I've wiped them down it has actually made quite a difference I suppose. Especially considering the fact that it's a soft drink! :lol:
