Sc0rian 0 Posted July 3, 2008 thought i better get a project log going on here too.. as some of you know, i used to have a mk2 16v eaton, till i wrote it off.. since crashing it decided that another golf wasnt for me, was kinda fed up of them, always wanted a corrado, so got a mental corrado in the making now. how i bought it from ebay: stripping it Bought a crappy little pug, used this to take to santa pod, lol. going up santa pod Fuel filler cap for corrado. sold the pug and bought a mk2 diesel!! Went and picked a ton of late bits of my mate i got 2 doors 2 wings 1 bonnet 1 front bumper 1 slam panel 1 dash all dash parts carpet in the back of the mk2.. ha.. More corrado stripping! time for a update.. first off massive thanks to lovely brad (and his g/f) for all his help and time this week    engine out.. door on.. the next day.. full Milltek exhaust system.. with the corrado B) :D HR ARBS front and rear :D B) Rolling shell again wings kinda pushed on.. not held in properly yet. FINALLY decided on a colour got my rims shamefully the paint is all coming of, gonna colour code them.. although they have only JUST been painted.. the colour is pretty awful though.. brad pulled the rims apart yesterday for a full re-spray. spent last 2 days wire brushing and painting crossmember subframe: my tyres: Yokohama Parada Spec 2 205/40/17 and bought 2.25" dishes so i have 9" rears. and finally got my seats sorted

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 4, 2008 Welcome aboard chap :D Sure you want fixed seats? Recliners would be better for your back on long journeys! What seats are they out of interest? They look nice and light! Are you sticking the 16V back in?
Sc0rian 0 Posted July 4, 2008 cheers for the warm welcome. i just didnt want audi 80 door handles, not my thing, like the corrado handles.. i have still got these doors for sale :camp: yup, 16v/abf eaton is going back in :) currently they arent fixed seats they just sit in the corrado subframe, but i'm properly gonna hard mount them. boost monkey 0 Posted July 4, 2008 Wowzer, looks like a fun build. Must have cost a few pennies! Are you allowed to use a towing vehicle which is lighter than the car being towed? Nowt wrong with a 205 though, they're proper workhorses. :salute: Build cost to date?
mrbeige 0 Posted July 4, 2008 Glad to see you started a build thread on here, Ben! Seeing all the work so far in one long post is mint! Didn't realise you'd got all the subframe etc painted and ready to re-fit! What paint did you use? Hammerite? Those rims look fookin sweet.....seats aren't bad either
dirtytorque 0 Posted July 4, 2008 Cool thread. Lots of pics is always nice. :) That pug looks pretty cool too. Is that its factory paint?
boost monkey 0 Posted July 4, 2008 Yeah they yellow pugs are the diesels or the 1.1 petrols IIRC
Sc0rian 0 Posted July 4, 2008 Yeah they yellow pugs are the diesels or the 1.1 petrols IIRC 1.9 diesel of pure muscle 8) 8) and yeah i think its illegal to tow a car heaver than its self, oh well, dont care done it now, dont need to do it again  think thats bad? check this out: :norty:   cheers mr.stu, :) er, i used engine enamel paint, dont rust, thick, perfect stuff. Would of get it powder coated, aint that fussed tho tbh. pfft build cost is properly something stupid, try not to keep track :cuckoo:
boost monkey 0 Posted July 4, 2008 Ahh you nutter! fair enough, build looks like it'll be a goodun. Paint is better than powder on subframes etc as powdercoat will fracture if a stone hits it hard, whereas paint will just chop off and you can recoat. paint ftw. Alexander 0 Posted July 5, 2008 Superb! I'm always in awe of people who can "just" pull an engine out of a car and put it back in. That kind of stuff blows my mind!

Ive got the same wheels as those (good choice btw, they look stunning on a corrado's) and one of the badges has come off the centre cap, so need some new ones
