Uprated Headlight looms for 2013

Recommended Posts

Forgive my ignorance - but are the 2 relay looms for dipped & heads, 3rd relay for front fogs?

Nah, 1 for left dipped and 1 for right dipped, and 1 for left and right full beam

So if any one relay packs up you only lose 1 headlight.

Hi there,

I'm away now til Wednesday, so thanks for answering the questions to those who did.

The looms are easy-ish to fit. The instructions are clear and precise and should be within car owners capabilities.

I'll update the front list when I get home and crack on with making the looms.

Cheers

Any chance Kur2y you could post the pic of the oem connector you have? Just so we all know what we are after.

just a thought, wouldn't one relay for main beam be stretching the wiring/relays a bit?

If you wanted to fit 100W H3's (centre spots) and H4's(main bulb) that's 400W which is going to draw a hefty current is it not?

I can see it's safer (failure wise) to have one each for dip left/right, but it's the main beam that needs separate relays for left/right power wise.

Hi davidwort, to answer your question, NO!!!!!!

You are using one relay to power just the main beams.

The cable that will be carrying is:

Power =Volts x Amps

Amps = Power/Volts

Amps = 200/12

Amps = 16.67A

Therefore, the 40 Amp cable and 30 Amp relays are more than capable of handling the Current.

Hope that helps and tomorrows lesson is History!!!!!!!

However be careful not to melt the reflectors of the headlights as it will get very hot in there if you're not doing 100mph(which is highly illegal) for cooling. the difference the loom makes negates the need for the mega bulbs in my opinion but my loom will take it.

Pic's of headlight plug tomorrow as I've only just got home sorry.

In my opinion PROVR6 there is no advantage to having the OEM plugs. people say it's difficult to put the spade connectors into the back of the headlight and I agree but not £20 worths. The best way to fit the loom is to take the headlights out so it's actually not that difficult.

I guess it looks prettier aswell.

I see. I take it that means if you have the OEM Connectors you do not have to remove the headlights?

I guess so but you don't have to.

I've got fat stubby little fingers and I can get the loom plugged in OK.

The thing is the dealers don't have any, so if you can find them then I'll fit them to the loom for you.

Hopefully here is a pic of the plugs and the ones shown are for 'critical mass' if he still wants?
