Fanjita 1 Posted April 10, 2009 (edited) Hi all, Here is my new motor, had it about 2 weeks now, no major issues apart from the fuel pipes leaking which have been replaced now! Engine: -128,000 miles with a reconditioned head (at 127k) -De cat -Stainless Magnex Exhaust -New mounts -New Radiator -Engine transplanted at 150,000, with 127k on the new engine Interior: -Cloth Interior -LCD screen head unit, bit dodgy though, think the amp might be at fault -Parcel shelf 6x9s -Corrado Logo door sills Exterior -40mm (i think) coilovers, unsure of brand -Eyebrow spoiler -Inpro Angel Eyes, Front fogs and indicators, Side repeaters, and rear lights -Unknown brand of 17" alloys Runs great, no real problems, apart from i think the ignition switch is on it's way out. Very quiet idling, much quieter than my old VR. Here's some pics No plans really on what to do, I'm a student so I'll just try to keep the costs at a minimum, i might try to downsize the front splitter though as it keeps scraping on uneven roads! It looks like it's black but it's just the light, i guess thats one of the features of Dark Burgundy Pearl Edited July 6, 2015 by Fanjita
coullstar 0 Posted April 10, 2009 Just like your old one eh  I take it you were missing it. Wheels are Santa Monica and were available on the Mk4 Golf as an option. If there originals then they should be fairly light as well and 7in wide. The replicas are 7.5in wide. Oh and i'll have your front spoiler of you if your selling it. Dude VR6 0 Posted April 10, 2009 Very nice RADDA mate :D The wheels look like something that I had on the car before I brought it, which were Fox Racing wheels. Wish I still had them on mine as they look nice on a dark car. :(

Thanks for the wheel info, they need a refurb though sadly :(

Never did around here  keep us posted :D All good Darren, you weren't wrong, been really looked after. You're lucky you didn't have to replace the ignition switch though, thats a pig of a job, it's whats causing the intermittent starting, ie when nothing happens when you turn the key, at least i think thats the cause anyway, did you ever notice it? The roads are terrible round here to be fair, even worse in Bournemouth where I'm heading back to shortly, there must have been a meteor strike on the roads seriously! Goldie 2 Posted April 13, 2009 Is DBP the same (or very similar) to Aubergine?? That could well be my favourite colour for a Corrado, very nice...

Fanjita 1 Posted October 21, 2009 Just thought I'd leave an update for anyone that's interested. Got hold of a 50mm splitter in the end, only just recently though so it's still to go on. Some t**t has nicely put a dent in the passenger door which I will be getting fixed soon hopefully. Got hold of a new steering wheel, it's a Momo Millennium Evo (320mm) and it's great :) Going to be refurbing the wheels soon too as they're suffering lacquer peel quite bad now. That's it for now, I'll get some new pics soon.
Fanjita 1 Posted October 22, 2009 I had a little play with Photoshop, managed to try some new wheels out, and debadge it. What do you think? I want these wheels!!

Fanjita 1 Posted October 22, 2009 Very smart! Always liked those RS6 alloys... you getting a set? I'd like to...but funds are a little tight at the moment :( Taking donations?
coullstar 0 Posted October 23, 2009 Personally Id stick with what you have. 17in RS6's will be reps therefore not as good quality as what you have and no doubt a lot heavier.
jok 0 Posted October 24, 2009 I'll take the santa's off you if you find the RS6 alloys  can I ask what the drop is on your car and what shocks/springs are you running on.
Fanjita 1 Posted October 25, 2009 Personally Id stick with what you have. 17in RS6's will be reps therefore not as good quality as what you have and no doubt a lot heavier. Thanks Graeme, It was just a thought as my Santas are in need of some attention due to lacquer peel and corrosion. I'll probably take a look at them myself soon, as it's only the front surface so I should be able to sort it with some sandpaper and a rattle can of lacquer. I'll take the santa's off you if you find the RS6 alloys  can I ask what the drop is on your car and what shocks/springs are you running on. Hi jok, I wouldn't let anyone take them in the current state they're in, the lacquer peel is quite bad on the front face of a few of them. According to the previous owner, they're 'Silversport Coilovers' although I have found nothing on them through google. As far as I can tell, due to knowing the drop on another Corrado (40mm) and mine being slightly lower, we think its a 50mm drop. I'm not very sure of this though, so if anyone thinks it isn't I'd like to know! The ride is very firm, but it needs to be with the wheels at that sort of height in the arches, and more give in the springs and it'd be rubbing left right and centre. I still have the original arch liners in and arches aren't rolled, the suspension does a good job of keeping them from rubbing  .
jok 0 Posted October 27, 2009 wow, must be a very firm ride hope you have a good chiropractor! but good to know they fit with no faffing. what size are the tyres?

I think the eyebrow just makes the front less prominentby extending the line from the bonnet, it does change the look a lot. Cheers mate
