My VR6 and Storm

Recommended Posts

Time has been short recently, but got a wee while today, started cleaning out the interior of the red VR6, and fitted the recently powdercoated eibach arb onto the subframe, oh and popped on 2 new engine mounts as well, hopefully I'll get it on soon :)

Will do mate as it's not really a one man job, more like a 2 man, 1 jack, lots of swearing, and a good couple of cups of tea

Been super busy with life recently, but got a couple of hours at it today. Removed the front crossmember and radiator support, which surprisingly is still all there, on earlier inspection I thought it was gonna be in bits, I bought the powdercoated one that was for sale anyway........but that's for the Storm, just now I'm trying to concentrate on the Red one.

I've got loads of bits ready to go on, just need to find the time/energy to get all the other bits done first. Replace crack pipe and thermostat housing, replace sump, tidy up the block as best I can for the moment, and the biggest job by far, replace all the brake lines.

Looks similar to my garage floor! :D - nice work!

Eibach anti roll bar?

It is indeed an Eibach arb, I got the pair of them powdercoated to freshen them up. I've test fitted the rear as well but I've misplaced the thin metal piece that goes over the bush so I won't be tightening up until I find them/make new ones.

Plus you get to see the new bushes, supplied by the lovely Anna from VW Heritage

They're keeping you busy that's for sure. I might know someone who's fitted one of those short shift kits

Not had any time to do anything recently. I did pick up a couple of the wee dust cover things that go on the rear stub axles. Not the cheapest (£5each) for what is basically a fancy washer 9b2c27fd816ee2bc383949915af1c92e.jpg
