My new weekend toy...

Was looking at a few cars with a 20k budget like a 996 or 500SL but ended up getting 2.

 

I'm rolling phat as they say during the week in a black Micra 160SR, and for weekends I have this little beauty.

 

111R with the VVTI Toyota lump, so 189bhp standard (has lotus sports stg2 exhaust and Hanger111 ECU remap bringing the power-cam in earlier).

 

Drives sublime :D

 

Hard top means all year round fun, though I wish the sun would come out to play a little more before it gets too cold to have the top open!

A friend of mine recently got a similar Elise (it's some kind of special edition - no idea what!) and he's absolutely loving it. Went out for a quick spin in it and it was an absolute rocket ship.. rather uncompromising on ride quality though!!

I know, I'd dearly love another VR, and I was very interested in Merod's 57k mile car but needed a set of wheels quickly as I didn't have anything at all.

 

The Micra goes well for a little car with a 1.6 engine, and handles really well as the wheels are right in the corners with no overhang from the body.

 

Plus the Micra is a car I'm happy to park in the darkest, roughest places and not worry about it, I couldn't do that with a Corrado I'd be on tender hooks all the time!!!

Bit of an update - the car is now running on evil black wheels!Car looks evil.

 

Matching black/silver badges are on too.

 

5 coats of black later, the finish looks almost wet in the sunlight...

 

Poor pic though, if the sun ever comes out again I'll have another go.

Very nice indeed....was a 111R i had before the Corrado....until the credit crunch took a bite out my a**e lol

 

you need to get an induction kit on it as well, either viper or hurricane.....the noise when it goes on cam is out of this world
