Yawn, so why is/was a Valver used in VW cup and not a VR then? :epicfail:

Too tight fisted and scared of the extra power. !!

You need to catch up on events fella! At one point (I think it was the 2004 season) Ken Lark's team ran a second silver car for a young ex-Karter who turned out to be crap, plus there was a blue/white VR6 driven by (I think) Michael Neuhoff. None of those cars have raced since 2006. Ken Lark now races in historic saloons, and although I believe he still has the silver Corrado race car, he was driving a Vento VR6 when I saw him at Brands Hatch in September (in a support race for the DTM)

The valver started racing the following season. I think with the way the rules for the championship are now set up (where any new entrant car which hasn't raced before now has to receive a special dispensation from the organisers to race) will effectively mean the demise of the older models over time. VW have been fairly good over the years with the equivalency formula for old & new cars racing but I don't think they're exactly thrilled when a 20yr old Scirocco beats the current models which VW are trying to sell !
