8vMatt 1 Posted December 10, 2009 Oof, just had some painful reading and pictures on this thread. There must of been some rather nasty ends to some poor people from the looks of some of the cars, so if you're of a delicate nature please don't open the link (don't worry there aren't bodies shown in pics, just your imagination can picture it :pale: ) Drive carefully everyone and don't add to the list of written off Corrado's. There must of been dozens of cars destroyed in various ways. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4640218

vagman 0 Posted December 10, 2009 Make's you want to take extra care  Not sure about this, i thought i read somewhere that VW only sold 10.000 corrados, or was it 10.000 that came to the uk? Feel free to correct me if anyone has the correct facts and figure's, would be interesting to know. Been reading that much on corrados lately.

G60_Marc 0 Posted December 10, 2009 Quite a few engine bay fires in that post it would seem. Check the integrity of the engine bay fuel lines people! and if you running a 1.8T VRT etc. shield them from the heat. I carry a powder fire extinguisher in my boot after having a close call once when my turbos oil pipe burnt and started spraying the red hot turbo and manifold with oil.
Swompy 0 Posted December 10, 2009 Shocking stuff, fire extingisher added to xmas list  I'm adding one to my list now. I bet there is nothing worst than standing there watching your beloved rado go up in smoke and you cant do anything about it but just wait for the fire engine. :( In all fairness some of thos Corrados looked in a preaty good state even after some big impacts. Still sad tho :(
