biggerbigben 0 Posted December 25, 2004 Those were a knightmare to trim. Look the dogs tho' I know, spoke to Richard (used to work at MJ interiors) and he said don't even go there with those TVR Tuscan seats - nightmare to trim.... ...so been thinking about some new front seats that will match the rears and go with the TVR dash. Very hard to find some good front seats for not stupid money that goes with the lovely coorado rear bench. Looked at all sorts of seats but most don't suit my needs. I would love some leather trimmed buckets but thats tooo pricey, looked at lotus, TVR + other "different" sports car seats but I don't feel they fit the critera. So I'm looking back at the recaro line up.....?, but being 6ft3" I need a seat that will mount low, or at least that can be mounted on the floor with some after market runners. Lee I sat in your car at E 38 (with your permission  ) and yours were really comfy, well supporting and they suited the car down to a tee, but do you think they can be mounted any further down? Did you just use a set of corrado subframes and weld them on?

You could always go for a recaro fixed back seat which bolts directly to the floorpan. Should give you an extra 3".

Krazee 0 Posted December 29, 2004 Another option is the same seat as Lee has, Recaro SRDs, but getting Wedge mounting brackets. Front to back motion is retained, but after modifying the brackets (which you have to do either way) i think you will get them low enough. I am almost 6-1, with long legs, and I have yet to have someone that sat in them to think they were cramped. When properly setup, those brackets might yeild about 1" lower height that the power brackets Lee used.
biggerbigben 0 Posted December 29, 2004 I bought a recaro seat of ebay yesterday and I think I'm gouing to make some brackets up and mount it to the floor. This way my head dosen't hit the roof! lol Thanks for the advice krazee

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted January 13, 2005 I must have spent between 3000 and 4000 hours on the car in total !!!!! mad I know.! At VW labour rates, it would have cost you 240 - £320,000!!

biggerbigben 0 Posted January 15, 2005 Right, I said I'd would post some more pics this weekend. I've finished the top half of the dash and both upper and lower pods. I've painted them to seal the filler and glass fiber so I don't get any dust etc. They will be covered in due course. I gave the car a bit of a clean on the outside as the layers of dust were beginning to get quite deep! Just have alot of wiring to do next which I'm not a big fan off! Enjoy.... CoxyLaad 0 Posted January 16, 2005 lovely looking car you have there mate, and may I say your rear camber doesnt look too bad at that height! 8) It looks like you have jammed a surf board inbetween the front seats :D
biggerbigben 0 Posted January 17, 2005 Ben, those wheels are gorgeous, Are they nthe Artec ones? I'm not sure who makes them to be honest. I just know that they were an aftermarket fitment for Porsches back in the day and infact I think there is a German company who still makes them or at least sells them, but I think they retail for about £500 each not including tyres!!
