What to use to whiten your tyre brand

ive been tryin to get my c to look like an old school racer and wightening your tyre brand is a cheap way to get major enhancement,

 

But what to use? to get the whitest, longest lasting chalk for your tyre?

 

heres what i tried:

 

ebay pen (liquid chalk): 7/10 for brightness, lasts about 1-1 1/2 weeks

 

tip-pex: 8.5/10 for brightness, lasts about 3/4 weeks

 

any idea what he manufacturers use or have you any tips and tricks?

i've got some budget tyres on mine so wouldnt want to highlight that, i'd rather hide it!

 

We used to do this on r/c buggy tyres back in the 80s - we used gloss paint, and a fine paintbrush, dont know how good that would be now though?

I believe theres something in motor cycle gear shops for this as a friend if mine did it to his a while back, more like a paint stick if i remember right! :?

You can get that in Halfords as well, it's good stuff but it takes aaaagggeeees to do well and then you have to redo it every so often. I did it on my bike once then swore I'd never do it again, far too much work for what you get out of it.

good ideas, never even thought of gloss!

 

ive had a go with tipex it was okay but not very accurate.

 

what are the pens like vr6dude? if you can get one in white and one in yellow that'd be cool. preferably quite thick (like the gloss) coz the liquid chalk pens arent that weather resistant (like the ones from the bike shops)

i have used this loads of times in the past and it stays on for ages....

 

liquid chalk from your local stationers....about 2.30 a pen any colour too will write on any surface and is water proof..
