Help get obsolete parts re-introduced via VW Classic Parts!

Recommended Posts

How about parts for the spoiler... the main plastic assembly bit and not the entire motor? I know there's probably a lot of us who'd want to replace that lot...

Jim do your research :nono: :)

The spoiler assembly is available on there in component form, ie motor, drive shafts, gearbox and spoiler.

What about the Vr6 master cylinder on its own as VW have in last couple of years mated it with the servo so you have to buy the lot

Also the 3rd fuel tank strap that they obsoleted off the 70 litre tank

You dont have to register to do the parts check process.

Anyone emailed yet? Heres my response :) Said I am restoring two Corrado's and needed these parts and got a springily personal response. :) I was expecting a copy n paste job.

Hello, Neil..

I'm very sorry every time I have to tell the customer that something is not

available, I have some old VW's , too, and even we have sometimes no

chance...

I will send your email just like it is to Mr. Uhrbach, he is one of the guys

here in our shop, who are trying to find the old manufactures, and perhaps

manage to re-produce a part..

I don't think that I can make you much hope, and I have no idea about the

time or the price such a part could be in the end....

I hope we can help you with the parts we have, at least..

Peter

They are a really nice outfit. I'm not surprised at the personal letter.

Thorsten Wieseler who I speak to on the phone is also a very nice chap.

They've moved out of the old Automuseum some time back (door in a side wall opened into an Aladdin's cave :) )

Now in an old dealership garage in Wolfsburg. Ship everything through VW Wolfburg's Logistics Dept (DHL). Even the crates are worth keeping for storage.

I might add that I also get VW parts as original manfacturer from this guy. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/tierod69 He's reliable. Just bought an ATE brake part from him for the VR6. Maybe if he was given a list, quantity and including manufacturer's name, he may be able to source non stamped VW original supplier parts.

Just ordered some "obsolete" parts from Classic parts, thanks Pat !

If you search there website for parts, put a C in front of the part number, most but not all part numbers have been put on their computer. They are still working on bringing there website up to date.

For me it would have to be,

1) the front later VR6 wings (The wider ones)

( O/S/F = 535821022D ) Please bring these back.

( N/S/F = 535821021D ) Please bring these back.

You can still purchase the early wings from VW Heritage,

they are about £340.83 per each.

2) The dash cluster screw cover caps.

( O/S = 535 858 507 ) Please bring these back.

( N/S = 535 858 508 ) Please bring these back.

3) Sunroof rail carriage unit.

Not sure what the part number is for this though.

4) O/S/F inner door card top black plastic trim.

( O/S/F = 535837476 01C ) Please bring this back.

( N/S/F = 535837476 01C ) N/S is £26.67 through VW Heritage.

5) The fuel surge tank unit on the 4 cyl engines.

( 535 201 043 ) for Corrado 1.8 16v eng code(KR) and 2.0 16v eng code(9A)

Please bring these back.

I might fabricate my own up out of alloy ??

Cheers.

Si
