STU175 0 Posted September 15, 2017 Doors sprayed, not great, I think I need a new, better gun Think I would be happy if it was a new BMW, finish is about the same :) looking good. i wasnt very good at the spraying part but got very good at flatting back lol i know what you mean about the bmw finish its shocking on quite a few new cars. most new cars would benefit from flatting back/paint correction. what you got left to do b4 it hits the road then? Doors are now on, need to fit all the wiring into them, wire the engine bay spray, flat and fit the front panels finish of the brakes get a windscreen and fit it And then just a few other wiring jobs Not an awful lot really but the wife keeps giving me jobs and want to spend time with me (not in the garage, I have suggested that :) ) I still have 10 days holiday to take before the end of november so hoping to crack on then It's about time True, and I got it offered at a price I couldn't turn down
GrahamU 5 Posted September 30, 2017 Not been the best week, feel I tok a step forward the 3 back ....... :( First the K04 had cracks so that went back, may just go for a K03s hybrid now. Then had friday off so had a play with the car, noticed the covering I'd put on the roof lining and the C pillar had peeled It would appear the spray glue I used turned to slime and didnt stick it :( I had some felt like material so today I have re covered the roof lining, hopefully it will stay on this time, tomorrow, if I can get the remains of the goo off, I will try to recover the c pillar but using EVO stick On another note, I have started checking the electrics that I've put in and so far so good :)

GrahamU 5 Posted October 5, 2017 Audi tt sunvisors fit corrado? I'll let you know :) They are approximately the same size but the fixings are different, it has been done to mk3's
GrahamU 5 Posted October 7, 2017 OK, some small mods and the Audi TT sunvisors are in. Start with the easy bit, the inner clip. All the mouldings are there and shaped to accept the screws when the holes are drilled, then I cut down the rear of the clip so it was the same thickness as the original So then onto the visors, they are a bit bigger so I needed to make a 13mm hole in the metal to accept the visor. Then cut down the plastic of the visor clip so it would fit through the 13mm hole Although I have now realised I missed taking a couple of pics :( will get them when I take it of again to wire in The vanity lights came next, just cut a hole in the roof lining And this is the result Not looking to bad :)
gazvr6 10 Posted October 7, 2017 That looks great! It definitely modernises the interior. Cracking idea with the rear interior light aswell Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
GrahamU 5 Posted October 8, 2017 A pillars being covered and in and with some of the spare material I cut into squares to use as the squeak/rattle stopper around the C pillar fixings lastly today, a quick pic of the fitted C pillar
GrahamU 5 Posted October 15, 2017 I have a week off this week so hoping to get a fair bit finished this week :) As usual though things take alot longer than I hope to get done. This weekend I have Powered the climatronic unit and it works :) while I was doing it, I wired in the radio, running all the rca cables etc, finished wiring the rear interior light Then faffed about for a while running wires for the alarm LEDs, making a tailgate switch suuround and trying to work out why the rear spoiler stopped working (blown fuse, and the bentley manual was no help :( ) Now, gone on a bit of a punt and bought this I'm hoping I can cut the dash and have the switch next to the spoiler switch, this comes with the switch and wired connector. Will also have to work out how to wire it :)
fla 9 Posted October 16, 2017 some excellent work going on there Graham! You're the master of wiring and harnesses so this switch mod will be a doddle for you. I bought a Golf 3 headlight switch some years ago as a replacement, but still haven't got round to working out how to fit it in... so i'd be interested in how you graft this one into the dash. GrahamU 5 Posted October 16, 2017 Thanks Hasan Once I've got it fitted I'll write it up
dan 0 Posted October 16, 2017 Realy cool project there Graham... Keep up the good work!
GrahamU 5 Posted October 17, 2017 Thanks Dan. While waiting for the headlight switch parts to arrive I started on the engine harness Started with this which I was running before but I wasn't really happy with the cable run and decided to hide it away more So that got cut up and this is what I am creating So that was the start, I still have this birdsnest to wire in at the other end plus a few more sensors like N75, MAF and O2
GrahamU 5 Posted October 19, 2017 Progress seems very slow, the days go and it doesn't appear I have got much done, but a couple of quick pics from today laid out in prep Crimped joints Crimp covered with heatshrink sleeve and the cable wrapped in kevlar tape ready to be sleeved Then this arrived today Planning on adding a single touch start :)
GrahamU 5 Posted October 19, 2017 P.S. I can still see the picture so I assume other people can ? Still using photobucket :(
