emu 0 Posted November 1, 2011 Just got my hands on brand new left n/s wing. Part number is 535821021D so it should be late wing and looks like the wider one but there is no hole for side repeater. Is it normal ??
Supercharged 2 Posted November 1, 2011 Yep, they don't come with them
MarkFoster 0 Posted November 1, 2011 Could it be a US spec one.....?
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted November 1, 2011 Probably! Either VW only have one press (i.e. with no indicator hole) or they've run out of Euro spec wings and are now selling remaining stock of US ones. My new wing back in november 09 also had no indicator hole.
joebloggsVR69 0 Posted November 1, 2011 I bought a replacement wing from VW back in 2004, when I had my car painted. That one also had no indicator hole
dragon green 5 Posted November 1, 2011 I bought one last year,(passenger side)..... no hole
RW1 0 Posted November 1, 2011 As Steve says..... they don't come with holes pre-cut. Never have done to my knowledge and that applies to most VW wings I've seen of the Corrado/Scirocco MK1/2 era. Reason.... older models in the life cycle of some models don't have side indicators, some export markets don't have side indicators, so they make it easy for production not to punch the holes plus reduced number of operations = a production cost saving. Instead there is a template dimensions/position for the local bodyshop to do it. As its the two holues being correct for the side indicator being right otherwise it won't fit well or the indicator unit is broken when fitting. . Redfox 10 Posted November 14, 2011 The various German cars I've had never came with side repeaters, and no holes for them either. Cheers, Redfox.
