New late wing and no hole for indicator ??

Recommended Posts

Just got my hands on brand new left n/s wing. Part number is 535821021D so it should be late wing and looks like the wider one but there is no hole for side repeater. Is it normal ??

Probably! Either VW only have one press (i.e. with no indicator hole) or they've run out of Euro spec wings and are now selling remaining stock of US ones.

My new wing back in november 09 also had no indicator hole.

As Steve says..... they don't come with holes pre-cut. Never have done to my knowledge and that applies to most VW wings I've seen of the Corrado/Scirocco MK1/2 era. Reason.... older models in the life cycle of some models don't have side indicators, some export markets don't have side indicators, so they make it easy for production not to punch the holes plus reduced number of operations = a production cost saving.

Instead there is a template dimensions/position for the local bodyshop to do it. As its the two holues being correct for the side indicator being right otherwise it won't fit well or the indicator unit is broken when fitting.

Last few ones were 385 pounds each. Don't really need it so if somebody interested can sell it :)

The various German cars I've had never came with side repeaters, and no holes for them either.

Cheers,

Redfox.
