Macdaddy 10 Posted March 4, 2012 looking really good cant wait to see the new paint on, fantastic work on the headlining. Guy Thanks Guy, Took a two hour trip across to see matt (Redborbet) and pick up the stainless exhaust system he had listed on ebay. Was great to have a look at another forum car and listen to the great sound of his decat exhaust!!! Hope our neighbours dont give you too much grief now lol! The unknown make exhaust had "msvw" number plates on each part leading me to beleive its a Milltek, Also looks very much like the Milltek style but i'll find out for definate when i give them a call on Monday to replace the straight pipe that matt had to unfortunatly cut to free it from his car. Will be mostly spending today hopefully getting that tail pipe upto "show and shine" standard and cleaning up my newly smoothed/tinted rear reds! pics will follow. Macdaddy 10 Posted March 4, 2012 How much has been painted...? why have they not stripped more off...lights,indicators velcro ect.. That was mid prep, its all come off and been painted now. Had the back bumper, rear panel where the badges sit, full drivers side, bonnet, front bumper, both front wings all done as it was stonechipped badly. Macdaddy 10 Posted March 4, 2012 Spent an hour cleaning up the tailpipe by hand with wire wool, still a bit to go until i'm happy with it but i'll get a rotary on it to finish it off. Rear lights smoothed, tinted, lacquered, wet sanded and a quick polish, still to have the polish residue removed and lower half polished up.
odub 0 Posted March 4, 2012 those lights look good. i've got lamin-x tint on mine and they don't compare. still a great product though

scarlet_vr6 0 Posted March 5, 2012 Coming along very nicely! Rear lights are smashing :) As Oz said, lovely to see a blackberry getting such tlc. Your thread is making me want to paint mine sooner than I can afford to though  I had to laugh at your comment about not being used to seeing it without the lacquer peel - that is exactly how I've been feeling about mine now that the bonnet has been replaced! Thanks for your nice comments on my thread as well.

Macdaddy 10 Posted March 6, 2012 Cars collected from the bodyshop and pulled out of the garage just for pictures so literally untouched. Not yet started detailing just simply replaced the rear lights, plates and half way through fitting new badges. Closley inspected and i'm happy with the finish and colour, Detailing should start thursday so ive plenty of time for UD on Sunday. Milltek being fitted tommorrow at 9am by Pipeworx in Burscough...... Pics will follow! Ideally Chris i'd like a set of BBS RS301's for this show season, Porsche wheels are the current dailys but may end changing to something a bit OEM ! Thanks for the other positive comments, hoping we can turn this car into something to be proud of.

Macdaddy 10 Posted March 7, 2012 Thanks guys, I'm happy with the results and its booked back in at the end of the month for the remainder of the paintwork doing now. Nipped over to Pipewerx near Ormskirk and had the Milltek fitted this morning: (iphone pics) Pleased with the sound as its still discreet. Fit was truly awful however the lads at Pipewerx sorted that out by adjusting the oem bracket. The pipe now fills the bumper cut out perfectly. Cars filthy now after the country roads and mud! Next few days should be spent sticking a few layers of polish on ready for Ultimate Dubs this weekend.

And i really like you D90's, What size spacers did you use and did you roll the arches?? Pretty sure its on 30mm adaptors all round, Wheels are staggered with 6' and 7's IIRC and no arch work. Think i'm going back to OEM grill.... Opinions?

Macdaddy 10 Posted March 7, 2012 (edited) Yea they are 16"s, Diamond cut finished. I bought the badgeless in the days when i was going for a fully smooth Corrado and my oem grill was damaged, Now i prefer the oem look so want to change back .
